It depends on the dynamics of the playing group. It would have to be someone the others would look up to. You usually find that in a group a small handful of guys become natural leaders, the coaching staff will know who they are.

Hodgo has already pledged his allegience to WA now and after he retires. He's a sandgroper for the rest of his life.
So pocock is another player who has left stating distance from his family was a part of the reasoning......more West Australians and less mercernaries from Sydney/Queensland please.
