They are really showing that they are missing Pocock (Or Smith) now. I like Hooper but he is not a physical presence at the breakdown. At least Pocock used to standup to them in that area and secure us ball.
If Pocock had played a blinder it wouldn't have helped with the rest of the forwards sitting on their ass waiting for the Boks to give us the footy or the backs running stupid plays which were either so easy to pick that the Bok defense was set up a phase early or the complete opposite of what was required.
He couldn't have stopped people deciding that the time to challenge the line was when it was populated by three loose forwards and we had no support
He couldn't have stopped blokes choosing to stand in contact at the wrong time and go to ground ground at the wrong time

Cummins certainly had a poor start, however, I was pleased to see he was prominent in kick chasing (which the Wallabies have been poor at for some time). I was also pleased to see he felt the pain when he stuffed up - hard to fault his commitment to the jersey (which is a very good start compared to some others).
macattack, you are right, he is certainly wanting to give his best!
