now your talking jargs and it goes ahead... you will get to see more Force games each year... a win win I would say... the Talent is out there go get them...
If South Africa pull out - why not throw it wide open and have 2 extra teams Australia and 3 in New Zealand. The talent pool would get very diluted, but all teams in both countries would be in the same boat. The overall team standard may drop for a while - but when it starts to pick up again.....
We'd still have 14 teams - no need for new logos/stationary etc. Give a team to the vics and Sth Australia and all but tassie (maybe a south island NZ team can relocate there?) and NT (with an average alcohol consuumption of 47 beers a night for every man, woman and child, I don;t think they'd care anyway) are represented ....
Well that might be a bit OTT... sensible growth might be more prudent...
South Africa won’t be pulling out, the ARU and NZRU will be dissolving the SANZAR super rugby agreement and creating a new tournament…
South Africa will have to find their own way home…
Or they'll just move to Australia or New Zealand and try and become included in our teams during the Super 14 season then bugger off back to SA for Springboks.Originally Posted by mudskippr
But then that might as well be the ANZ cup. Not a bad idea, but I would have said the proposed Trans-tasman Super comp for News first, then an Australian/NZ provincial comp. It would get us our ARC replacement, and it would get the Kiwi's the revenue they need to prop up their provinces. It would definitely generate television interest too, and being a separate comp from the TT it could be aimed at FTA (subject to strict restrictions on the number and timing of ads!).
