The rebels game we looked very flat and tired. Hopefully with only the two SA games after the bye, jet lag won't be as big of an issue otherwise the lions could be a banana peel.
The only thing that defines a failure is how they play. If they dump winnable games and miss the finals, it will undoubtedly be a disappointment having worked so hard to get where they are. But if they play to their utmost with appropriate tactics and lose to genuinely better teams, so be it. It is the effort that counts.
But while the long term plan matters as a team, I would be placing no stock by it as a player. Some of these players won't be there next year - contracts, injuries, competition and circumstances will see to that. This is their moment, there is no guarantee any one of them will get another. Ask the Cheetahs how much last years performance matters now, or Pocock how he feels about the Brumbies chances...
