I bet David Pocock used to sing the SA anthem when he was a kid too!

This will be a Wednesday Night game, mid AFL season and I bet they get a capacity crowd at Subi Oval.

Such was the case with this weekend's Test in Perth, where so many locals wouldn't have had a clue the Wallabies were in town.

That's a bit fucken rich .. I have been to many a test in Sydney and Melbourne and the only gold jersey's in town were on tourists who fly in to watch the game, Melbourne in particular the locals wouldn't have a clue there was a test on!!

There was plenty of support for the wallabies and plenty of support for the bokke......the ongoing chants of bokka bokka reverberating around the ground made for a great atmosphere.
The South Africans have a great understanding of the game and are quite gracious win, lose or draw. It is great to have their support in Perth and the rugby fanaticism that they bring.
Anybody who knows about rugby knew the springbok test was on. There was a massive turnout for the BBQ/Brai and Bok town was full on match day.
I thought it was a great day out. It makes sense to have a springbok test in Perth because it will be well patronised by the Afrikanners.
People in Sydney have their own heads shoved so far up their own anus with their self importance that we must not read too much into any comment from afar.

The Perth test was a great sporting event for Perth. It was great for the game of rugby in WA and the test and test promotions were well patronised by South African fans and wallaby fans alike.

Isn't it great that all these rugby mad supporters call Perth home and very soon we will benefit from their children turning out for the WA age teams, Westyern Force and hopefully as "home grown" wallabies.

    The only way is up

    Dead set
I agree, the Boksfans are generally gracious and decent. Id simply not enjoy attending an AB game here in Perth, its bad enough when the shed is overrun for Chiefs/Crusaders games at NIB. theres no pleasure in being mindlessly abused for 90minutes with the girlfriend in tow.

I think the underlying theme of this article is "Perth has alot of AFL fans, AFL fans buy the paper, write an article attacking rugby, and youll sell papers"

I was in Boktown with SA friends both before and after the game on Sat and can honestly say I have never been with a more friendly, fun and easy going group of rugby fans in my life. They were passionate, yet so gracious in defeat.

My experience with NZ fans both at S15 and international level has been completely the opposite.

Long may the SA fixture remain in WA, and the NZ ones in the eastern states.

They are very hard on the West!! 34000 plus fans attending is not bad and to watch them win (even if it wasn't the prettiest game) was great. Would like to go to Brisbane for an AB game to compare though..
