How about we have two halves with 3 players on one side and 33 players on the other.. then swap over for the 2nd half?? That would create a lot of tries.. the spectators would flock.. geez louise
If they are really keen to get a 20/20 feel at a Rugby game they could give Cricket Bats to some of the defenders, set up Fast Bowling Machines launching Cricket Balls at 100 mph into the teams at random intervals

Yeah, but 7's is too much like league for my liking. It's simple to understand for non-rugby people and there's usually enough excitement for highlights, so I can well understand why it's the game the Olympics will accept.

But 10's is actual rugby, with proper rugby-style tactics. A game for all sizes, just like 15's. Eg, do you pick a big pack for the set-pieces or a mobile pack for the break-down, but which will lose 75% of the scrums and line-outs?

I'm not arguing aesthetics - I'm arguing practicalities. With the support that 7s gets all over the world you can't just ignore that.

Surely someone's been having a lend of Pie over this. Otherwise you've got Dilip Kumar openly suggesting professional Rugby players have outgrown the playing area with their increased speed, strength and stamina. A theory which has some truth to it IMHO.

Next thing you know we'll have some tosser suggesting a "hybrid" game with 13-a-side. The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!

What if you went further and reduced the teams to eleven players, legalised shepherding and allowed one forward pass every phase?

Or do away with the offside rule and allow mark to be called anywhere on the field...

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Now you're thinking! And how about instead of a scrum, we string the forwards out across the field in lines facing each other?

Well, at least you'd get an american team who don't get beaten 80-0 in every World Cup.

Maybe with a sign somewhere on the field that you can get 10 grand for hitting.

Either between the uprights for a drop goal to hit, or somewhere on the sideline for you to tackle somebody into (I really like the latter)

And every game the sign isn't hit the amount goes up by $10,000. Why stop there, introduce an amount for catches in the crowd when someone kicks out on the full say maybe $100

(I really wish they still did that at Domestic One Day games )

I think my catch at the Highlanders game should have counted seeing how far back from the field we were.
