Fair enough - 'cept I'm at work. Should get home just in time to watch Sterlo rearrange SBW's ribcage.
There's a 52" plasma in the meeting room we've cabled into an antenna. No AFL today so I was hoping for a shot at the TV.

Thanks Beige.
Hey, WRF.![]()
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
I noticed that Brisbane gets the Shute Shield forced on to them as well - bet that goes down well![]()
Yeah only on HD. Still, I just checked the tv guide and the Shute Shield is the only televised comp in the whole country - including Brisbane. No wonder they fight the national comp so hard - it's such a good bargaining position to sign players.
We need a better domestic competition involving all the up and coming players in all the states. The writing is on the wall hence the performance of the schoolboys combined states.
No wonder we can't keep up with NZ & SA...
Carl, go to www.theroar.com.au and read the rugby section you'll find a couple of posts about that very issue. Personally I'd like to see the Waratah Shield expanded to involve schools from QLD,ACT,VIC and WA. Re-Badged of course.
"The Wattle Shield" perhaps
And agreed.
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
It went the other way when they kicked out ACT schools a few years ago.
Yeah, the "Wattle Shield" wouldn't be a bad name. It's a pity that the waratah Shield kicked the ACT schools out.
It wouldn't require any large amount of travel. Teams play in pools within their own state leading to the state championship, then the state champions from each competing state play off in a tournament to determine the National Champion. The National champion then represent Australia in the annual Schools championship they hold in Japan.
Shute shield kicked the Act team out also... Do I need to say more... Sydney rugby has many administrative issues... and growth of Australian rugby is not its priority...
back onm this old chestnut. There is a petition done by a fellow roarer. Feel free to give it a look. Tell as many Rugby people as you can. http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/NRUC/
Thankfully the petition doesn't mention the ARC so it's all good...
It doesn't. It only expressing the need for such a competition.
