Deliberate cruelty to animals is a sign of a significant character flaw, regardless of their state of drunkenness. If the offenses were as reported the punishment is not severe enough but is apparently the maximum dollar amount allowable under the players association agreement in Fava's case. He's a senior player but seems to be a serial alcohol offender. I lean towards sacking him but that's not gonna happen and the extent of the cruelty is, as yet, not proven completely. They'll both have to deal with the loss of respect, probably and hopefully most of all from the coaches and team mates. The Force will have lost a lot of kudos with the WA public over this.
I was talking to someone the other day that compared some of this bad publicity the Force is attracting to be similar to the Wildcats and Tiny Pinda (this all happened jsut as I moved to WA so I'm not the full bottle on this one). Although the crimes were more severve and of a sexual nature the course of action is very much the same. Aparently there were plenty of allegations floating around at the time, but nothing proved for quiet a while. However during the "allegations" the Wildcats lost many supporters and sponsors and have never recovered.
Let hope we don't have that happen to us.

Somehow it it is some senior players i dont see them getting the axe cause the senior players tend to be alot of their best players
the only way i can see people getting the axe if is they are academy or bench borderline players
esp over a bloody quokas
Hopefully quokkagate will only be a flash in the pan for the Force. I hate to see them stuck in a quokkamire over this.

Agreed Chook! Scotty Fava must be shitting like a quokka on laxettes by now. Guaranteed if he has one more alcohol related SNAFU he's history.

I'ill take the money if it's still going Larry - fancy some wildcard bets on the Tahs this season !
Scot is a lucky man - he still has a job, his wife and his family
RugbyWA have dealt swiftly - hopefully this is the end of quokkagate however SMH and others will make a few more miles from this yet - cruelty is not tolerated easily by fans or sponsors - the really sad thing is that if it was a non famous type person they would have got away with it and another idiot would still be out there thinking its ok
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
You're right TQ1, Quokkagate will get tagged onto the SMH infamous closing off statement ''......the latest in a series of off-field incidents involving Force players, including.....blah blah blah''.
I'm sick of reading that crap.

Indeed chook, I can't believe they keep printing allegations that then turn out to be true.
Fava and Brown should have done this in Saudi Arabia.
The judge would have sentenced the quokka to 200 lashings and 6 months in jail for not being chaparoned during the beating.
