Isn't the East coast full of Irish immigrants?(from a few centuries ago) Do they support their rugby at all?

The east coast is full of immigrants from all over europe. Many came from Ireland in the early 1900's. I'm not sure where rugby is more popular but most of the best college players play on teams from schools in the west. I simply said the east coast for selfish reasons.
