So we are going to make TOCCs week by snaffling one of his ex coaches as well or do we have other names in the frame

That would be one of those very tenious link rumours KQ, I don't think it is one we should worry about.
Would love to see him here though.

cheers for the welcome and all the info guys.Went to the first few games the force played at the home back in 2006 and have been hooked ever since.
Was just wondering what positions people thought most needed players brought into.
from what i have seen and read the forwards look pretty good, maybe could do with another big bruising back rower, possibly someone like scott higginbotham from the reds who is actually from WA.
The backs have some great players but reckon they need a 2nd fly half to back up pretorious, would love to have seen brock james come back from france as he has been outstanding there and Berrick Barnes is unsettled at the reds by all accounts.
centre could maybe do with slightly more depth since scott staniforth and junior have left and wing could do with another class finnisher to replace drew mitchell, digby ioane would be a great replacement or maybe even further affield would be luke rooney who is playing for Toulon and seems to be doing a good job.

Barnes is not unsettled - he's an integral part of the Reds leadership group. He just chooses his words carefully. Digby, as far as reports go, has confirmed he will re-sign with the Reds. He has always said that it was the Reds or overseas.

Yes he's very settled when he says he wont make a decision about re-signing until he sees the outcome of the Reds review........very settled....I'm not saying he's going to leave but there are obviously issues if he makes a statement like that.

I would suggest a move West would be a good career move for him and I'm sure he has considered that.

I was having a bit of a count last night. The way I figure it is that (assuming we sign Damien Fitzpatrick- which seems likely) the only position in the forward pack we'd need to fill is a lock/6 and to be honest we could get an apprentice/rookie in for that.

In the backs we are pretty set for fullbacks and scrum-halves. Another winger and a fly-half who is capable of playing 12 would be very handy. And maybe another utility back as a rookie/apprentice.

So signing two or three more players and bringing two or three from the academy up to rookie level should cover things.

    @ Enforcer -

...of course there are issues - the Reds have played crap for several years now, so he wants to see some structural adjustments - which there are.

He has also previously said that he considers that the Reds talent coming through will soon reap significant rewards and that he wants to be part of that (having suffered through some lean years).

This is still a young team, and Berrick himself is still quite young. But he is no quitter, and there are signs that it will turn around - it always does.
