PR guys at RWA not switched on?

Surely there is at least one photograph of him in a Force jersey they could have used.
In addition, if I was Mr Emirates I wouldn't be impressed with my teams website advertising Toyota which is on the Cheetahs logo. Would have thought there was something in the sponsorship arrangement re photo protocols. Perhaps I'm being too picky.

Force website is not updated well, player profiles not updated, inc Academy. One of the media guys at Rugby WA should spend a day updating the website so it reflects better.

I'll be satisfied with the Force if they keep the scoreboard ticking over, even it means having to kick a couple of drop goals each game

    Me too. from the article:
They fondly remember David Hill's after-the-siren effort
oh yes we do, but now every time i think of it I hear Marto from the fox commentary team saying "oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!". it is disturbing.

It had been a pre-game decision to kick for points if attack stuttered and the opportunity arose.
"Our objective is to get points every time we get into their terri- tory. If it's a drop goal, penalty or try, points is points," Eber- sohn said.
I whole heartedly support this initiative. there have been so many times when the force have been camped in the red zone for multiple phases, and have come away with no points.

if they can keep the scoreboard ticking over that will go a long way to increasing their reward:effort ratio.

Thinking outside the box a little bit some AFL players have made the transition to NFL as punters and field goal kickers ect I wonder how realistic or otherwise it would be to target young talented players to play Rugby and have them in a specialist role to kick drop goals. Some of these Aussie rules players can kick the ball 55-60 meters on a drop kick.

Cummins needs to fire sooner rather than later.
I wonder if it will take the home against the Cheetah's to get back to his old ways?
Being confronted with the Haka certainly fired up Cummins...perhaps that could be played to him in the dressing room prior to running on the pitch

I love that the West are reporting a lot more on rugby, BUT at least the reporter could get the right photo............ The pic with the article is of Sam Christie - but the caption says it is Sias. I would be pissed if I were Sias............

Rugby Heaven on Sunday had a photo of Toby Lynn from Getty's. It was captioned Junior Rasolea. Great work, considering Junior was not in the 22.

I have no problem with the drop goal either. The only proviso I would add is that the Drop goal needs to be the last on a list of options in the flyhalf's head every play. For example, if there's an overlap, with props defending the wings and the fit flyers in the middle of the field, to shoot for goal is pointless, and an admission that you don't think you can score tries.

If however, they smash your breakdown, you get slow, ineffective ball with nobody on the wing and the defense set and pushing forward, it demoralises the other team for you to walk away with three points.

It also ensures they won't commit so many to the ruck, preferring to have a bunch of runners at the flyhalf for when he kicks.

the key is deception and variation. If the defenders can't figure out whether the play is going to be a pick n drive, a passing move, a tactical kick or a drop goal then they will be in two minds about how to defend. Making sure that they won't be effectively set for any of them!

If however our ability lacks in any of the areas, the pressure can be increased on all the others (they won't pass, so we'll not worry about covering their wingers too closely and pressure the tight channels)

If it's picture number three - isn't that Jayden Hayward, not Toby Lynn, Toby doesn't wear headgear.
My favourite pic of the 12 was number 1

Just had a look. It's Sias on mine. Perhaps they saw the mistake and changed it.

Or they were just trolling through TWF looking for their next story subject and saw they had screwed up and fixed it

    Possibly.
It was a one-off pic on the mobile site. Toby/Jayden ( ) was being tackled by two Bulls - in dark blue jerseys. One was a black dude of similar looks/build to Junior. Just poor research at a guess. The bloke in pic 1 is a bloody legend.

    Good point Gigs.
there's a time and a place for everything, as the saying goes.

of course what separates a good flyhalf from a great flyhalf is knowing which time and place calls for which action (run/kick/DG/pass/etc.).

speaking of which, i forced myself to re-watch the kings game yesterday (glutton for punishment, i know) and my thoughts on Toupu have not really changed. i am still not convinced that he is a natural 15. some of his decision making wasted good counter attack opportunities with kicks, while some of his counter attacks were shut down hopelessly quickly by the defence, when a kick would have been the better option.

All credit to the guy, he is playing with all his effort in the position where the coach wants him, but i just don't think he should be there. keep him at 13 or wing.
