Cummins for Prop!!!!!!!!
It's because Dunning is a 1-man scrum machine, watch him warm up under the posts before a game!
I don't understand why everyone else is putting Pocock @ 7 too, am I the only one who actually watched the S14 this year?!
Have the Force been playing left and right flankers like the French do (and sometimes the Saffers)?
Pocock is an openside in the mould of George Smith or Richie McCaw. So is Hodgson, so they may well play like that. I never picked it up though.
What is the word on Tyrell? I saw someone had him picked as their reserve hooker. My understanding was that he had been told by his doctors not to play hooker again. But I could be very wrong. But I think with Whittaker and Charles playing for the No 2 jersey, he will find it difficult to get a shot there.
Oh, and Cowen has to be a loosehead prop. The experiment of him at 2 did not work.
Look at how McCaw is playing now. He's got the 7 on his back but he's playing the classic blindside role.
Hodgson was better than Pocock this year in the pilfering role, so if you put Hodgson in 7, let Pocock muscle everyone around the field and play a semi-left/right break away setup like farva said and they will run over the top of everyone. Especially with our options at 8. You can have either Brown or McCalman starting, and then the other coming on after 50~.
So the number on their back will influence this?
Both Hodgson and Pocock are instinctive Open Sides, you can number them however you like.

Tyrell is back in the squad after being given the all clear by his doctors... i think in the 1 & 1/2 matches he played for us he performed better than any other hooker we had last year so no reason why he cant step up again.

Not at all, but since this thread is about what positions they'd be playing and we're in Australia, it's easier to put the 6 on Pocock since it implies he'll be predominantly playing on the blind.
During this season Hodgson went to the open while Pocock was injured and shined, after Pocock came back he started playing that 6 role and it complimented Hodgson/McCalman.
The whole left/right breakaway plan only works if you have someone who will play that role, if you just have 2 pilferers they'll get swamped . Hodgson (IMO) is the better pilferer out of the 2 of them.
Interesting how opinions vary, for mine Pocock has the best pilfer seen in Australia in my Rugby memory, he is a machine. Faster than Smith, stronger than Waugh and a different league to Hodgson.
But then, opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one![]()

Thats a great squad PB first time i have seasn the full list..... a good mix and I cant see too many weak spots there ?? ... 25/8/centre if any maybe locks?
With this squad you would think there is a chance of at least top 4 finish
I hope so, but it depends on injury though. It is a long season, and we will need depth to cover injury / burn out.
An interesting note is that in the Wallabies, the four Force players are probably in the top 5 each week within the team - only Kurtley Beale gets in who isnt in our squad.
Think about it, Sharpe, McCalman, OConnor and Pocok all have been huge this year so far. At the top end, we have the best players in the country. Its the next few tiers, and the quality falls away in Perth faster than in some of the other cities.
