Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
Rubbish.
Your guys walloped them.
Kala flexed some serious muscle today against Nedlands in the "1st grade trial" although I think Neds tactically left out their entire 2013 first grade team. Kala's enormous pack smashed the shit out of Nedlands. Hard to understand Ned's reason for playing a mixture of lower grade players against Kala prems, which resulted in a couple of serious looking head injuries for a couple of poor little Nedlands boys. Score didn't really reflect kala's dominance about 6/7 tries to 2 I think. Will Brock was good for Nedlands while Dave Kara was very good in the backs for Kala and prop Junior was destructive every time he ran the ball and had the stretcher on stand by every time he tackled.
Kala were quite impressive considering they say they have lost quite a few players.
None of the games had a 1st grade intensity though. Closer to reserve grade.
WARURA Referee
I do it because I love the game.

Stretcher was on stand by to carry his ego around

pretty average trial by neddies, 3rd grade looks good though.
This weekend there seems to be
Nedlands v Perth Bayswater
University v Associates
Bunbury v Swan Suburbs
Cottesloe v Wests-Scarborough
Kalamunda v Rockingham
University v Associates
Wanneroo v Palmyra
And next weekend
Nedlands v Palmyra
Southern Lions v Mandurah
Wanneroo v Associates
University v Wests-Scarborough
Joondalup v Curtin
Westie, where's your big announcement?
And speaking of trials, can anyone report on the successes of Nedlands, Perth and Wanneroo in infiltrating other clubs' catchment areas?
Juniors training must be underway by now, and Joondalup must have some spies out and about.
Tell you guys what, it's a lot easier to poach your players than to train 'em.
So hopefully with all these trials on and the Force A program finished we may see these boys having a run with their clubs (or at least training and being in and around the trials). That will be great for the punters.
Also heard Rocky may be hosting Cott the weekend before season proper..
