Only a couple of hours time difference and a good bit warmer. I'd say fitness, an awareness of the plays and the switch to ELVs would be bigger concerns.

    My thoughts as well AndyS.

I would have thought that, as Chucky has been training with the team, and with the ELVs, he'd be #9 and Chris-O will ease in, maybe play the last 20. He's been playing the "old laws" (when playing at all....)

Chris O'young is the best thing to happen to this team since the signed mat giteau.. he got the team going when coming on off the bench and will do it again. your all a bunch of gronks and should wait till he gets back and he shows you how its done!

PS...and this weekend its James Stannard at #9...and we all know when that boy grabs a chance..he grabs it by the throat and throttles it......Chris will have competition...and thats a good thing..

Gotta ask can Hilgendorf play 9 ?

Know he can play 10 and 12 - is this another option?

Yes, you are probably right, but he is "only" 33 and still playing well for Lienster and they are leading their comp. He would obviously only offer a short term solution and maybe we don't need it with Stannard and O'Young but injuries/depth?

I think Force will be going down a bad track if they start recruiting older players, the players we have at the moment and have had in the past have been with an eye to the future, Whittaker or Gregan would be a huge about face for the recruiting policy...I mean, they signed O'Young on a three year contract...

I actually think we're stressing way too much. I think we have the talent already and we just need to develop it. Give chucky a break. He's proved himself thus far. Who says he won't continue to do the same? With the experience in the backline and Gits likely to be yelling his head off at him with instructions the boy will be fine. If not, we chuck chris o'young in there and give him some more time.

We've also got an absolute GEM in the academy, who made the Red's forwards look like tools in the trial! I worry a bit about injury this season, but the future's like a rock!

Depth Depth and more depth - that's what we need to hear !

This week 1 half back - of undoubted merit in the form of local Paly groomed Chucky
Next week 2 half backs - still wanting to hear that the ARU have oked o'Young to play sorry to sound cynical but they (ARU) don't seem to be fastest most responsive group of the blocks.
The week after - we need a 3rd option - possibly a longer term prospect- this puts the squad back to 3 for this specialist position.
