I forgot to include an injury update in my summary of last night, so here it is (and those who were there, please correct me where I got it wrong):
DHP - Back this week
McCallman - Back for Rebels, broken scapula
Peni - Back for Rebels
Ian - Back for Rebels, Pectoral injury
Lourens - Out for year, ACL
Daley - Out for year, ACL
Jono - I don't remember, broken hand
Hodgo - I don't remember
Who am I missing?
I think Peni was playing wing wasnt he - cant be sure as I tried looking at the official western force site, but either I'm too stupid to find team details of past games or the site is shit. I vote for the latter.
So, assuming he picks up a wing postion, then Verrity-Amm or Newsome may miss out - unlucky on one of those.
Also, the way Brache played last week, he should be awarded with another full back start even though DHP is meant to be back
Hurricanes team to play the Force: Jordie Barrett, Cory Jane, Vince Aso, Ngani Laumape, Ben Lam, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara (c), Brad Shields, Callum Gibbins, Reed Prinsep, Vaea Fifita, Sam Lousi, Ben May, Ricky Riccitelli, Loni Uhila. Reserves: Leni Apisai, Chris Eves, Jeff To'omaga-Allen, Mark Abbott, Ardie Savea, Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, Otere Black, Nehe Milner-Skudder.
Unfortunately looks like none of the players who may have been out with injury for the Canes are, and Milner-Skudder is back as well. Very strong looking team, so going to be a tough ask for the boys!
Piece of piss mate!
We've got this easy.
It's on like Donkey Kong!
Dane Haylett-Petty Returns For Clash With ‘Canes
By Fraser Smith on Thu 1st June 17
The Road Safety Western Force have made just one change to the starting XV to face the Hurricanes, with star fullback Dane Haylett-Petty returning from injury to run out in front of the Sea of Blue on Saturday, 3 June.
Haylett-Petty returns from a hamstring injury he suffered against the Chiefs in Round Nine, and will lead the team out in what will be his 50th match of Super Rugby and for the club.
In the only other change to the 23, Marcel Brache moves to the bench and will look to continue his impressive form against the Reds last week, along with Wallaby squad members Tatafu Polota-Nau and Richard Hardwick.
Road Safety Western Force Head Coach Dave Wessels says that his team are looking forward to taking on the Hurricanes at home and backing up with another strong performance.
“Our biggest challenge is to learn how to back-up performances,” he said. “We didn’t play well in our last home game. It’s important that we address that this weekend.
“We want to play the way the people of WA will be proud of.”

80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
That's a very good team. Very Happy with that
Not like hiding Quade, Beale, Foley etc at fullback, and rearranging the deck chairs to cover
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
Kipper Brache will get some time off the bench, true he probably deserve to be kept in the starting lineup after last week's performance, but DHP is much more reliable at 15 and the 2 young wingers are doing really well too.
Wessels has again gone for impact off the bench, I think hoping that the Canes will tire coming back from Africa. And a 5-3 bench split.
That's easily the best 23 we can put out on the park, noteworthy that Marcel preferred to Monaghan.
My gut feel is that it will still be a bridge too far, but hey, we have had some epic games against the Canes in the past...!
Best team we could have named, thank God we're not cotton-wooling the boys for this game, at least it shows some faith in the plan.
Brache wouldn't complain about being behind Dane, and neither should he, Dane is Mr consistency in Oz as an outside back. I hope we've got somebody to step up and replace marcels positivity and ticker.
Ps need to play out of their skin this week and give grant the room he needs to attack, If he sits in the pocket and kicks, we're screwed.
C'mon the![]()
