I would have done what Lote did. First thought is that Gits might have swallowed his tongue and that aint cool. Quite a hectic moment of the game to deal with a crisis like that for Lote. Lote saw what happened but the Ref Asst's? What are they looking at?
Can you whack a poll on this thread pretty please?

I think most of the players have gone through a first aid course with the club. And on top of that, most of them are qualified refs and coaches. I sat a coaching course once with like 6 force players. And we all got taught about instances of first aid. So i think most of them would know what to do in times like these. But whether Lote did the right thing or not, everyone cana rgue a diff thing. But the good thing is that at least he did something. And Gits is fine.
you do realise it is not actually possible to swallow your own tongue, most people should be taught that on first air courses. The problem is vomit, mouthguards etc.
I heard some banter between players and the ref through the sports ears and the ref was basically pleading that he couldnt stop play unless there was a break or the player was in the way.
''What wold you do?''
- Leave the player alone
- Roll the player in recovery position ala Lote the Saviour
- Tackle the ref
- Play on and score a try
etc
etc
the standard thing.
I didnt know that about the tongue AS, thanks for that, I spose drool or vomit would be the concern?

you should try swallowing your tongue, it doesnt work because of that bit of skin that is attatched to the bottom of your tongue and your mouth cant remember the name of it.
Did you also know that Bon Scott died of assfixiation when he chocked on his own vommit.
If I was on the field, I would imagine I would have have stayed with Gits rather than keep playing on. I wouldn't have moved him, but certainly would have checked his airway - as our First Aiders would confirm - do your ABCD?
not really. because he didnt prepare him first. or support his neck correctly while he did it.
the intention was there, it was the right thing to do at the time. but there was a better way it could have been done.
ive not heard of gits having a neck injury so i think we can let him off this time and appreciate his awsome display of sportsmanship and mateship.
lote should be called super lote!
gits is like lex luther, he was trying to plot the downfall of the tahs and not only did lote fight for good but he illustrated his human side along the way and refused to let gits suffer for his wrongdoing!
(fixed, thanks for that BLR)

come on,we all know that he stopped to help gitts because he(Lote) knew he was never going to score a try all night & may as well leave it to the other 14
I would like to thank Moses for respecting my wish for a serious discussion, to Chook - I know you do it for comedy value. HeyZeus - I am still looking forward for your sensible input, if you can manage it.
Whilst I will continue to applaud Lote's sportsmanship. I believe the best thing to do would be to stand/watch over Gits and to wave to the Bench/Officials to ensure medical staff can get to him as quick as possible.
The problem is, in the heat of the moment no one knows how they will react.

It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!
