The reality, despite the Force wanting a 25,000 seat MES (before the 35,000 claim was done a few months back) is not going to happen.
The State Government are going to spend 25 million on building a 22,000 seat Stadium.
If you realise West Coast Eagles play at a ground where only members can buy tickets, so the same will happen for the Force.
The Stadia Task Force will build a 70,000 seat stadium or upgrade Subiaco Oval to 60,000...which will be for large scale Rubgy Matches, such as the Test Matches.
Since when has the State Government stuck to an original plan?
As with the other thread, the Force are already too big for Mmbers Equity, so there is now no point proceeding with an irrelevant ground.
The propsals were made before realising the scale of support for the team in this State.
With RugbyWA making a commitment to Subiaco for a further two years past the proposed move in Season 2 to Members Equity, they have silently stated that Members Equity will not match their needs.
The State Government would/will be held to task for fiscal mismanagement if they proceed with trying to devlope an unsuitable ground.

Since when did the State Government worry about being held to task over a minor issue such as gross fiscal mismanagement?Originally Posted by Burgs

Almost touche' TEF but I will flay back with, when it involves 50,000 pissed off Rugby supporters
Floating around the place somewhere I have a copy of the "Heavyweight XV" one of the papers published back when we were lobbying for Perth to be picked to host and it includes some pretty impressive characters in the political, judicial and corporate worlds!
I doubt they will settle for an inferior outcome either![]()

Not 100% sure but I seem to remember that one of the conditions of any new stadium will be that a fixed number of seats will be for public sale. If they are gonna spend public funds on the construction this seems entirely reasonable. But if they go ahead with ME that could be the case - members only.Originally Posted by Egan
Whatever they do they need to do it as soon as possible. I can't believe that I am expected to pay the Gold Membership price for a seat where I can't even see the sideline. Why not - because of the advertising hording running the length of the pitch on the Soutern side. i don't know what it says as it is blank on our side away froom the cameras but if blocks my view of the pitch out to nearly the 5 metre line - we are in row Q so it must be even worse for those lower down.
Yes, I did write to complain (tewice) No, therre was no sensible response.
We decided to go with Gold membership at crappy Subi to ensure a decent seat when we move to a rectangular stadium, but if that is going to be way out in the future we might as well just pay per match, Subi is unlikely to sell out and the cheap seats won't be any worst than where I am now.
One thing I WON'T do is give up on the team, these ground issues are nothing to do with our wonderful boys who are going to do us proud next year ! I can't wait to see our new backline in action behind our already brilliant and rapidly improving forwards.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

OK, so the above was my first ever post in this Forum ... where does the pathetic 'Wannabe" tag come from under 'Greydemon'. I have searched my profile and elsewhere but can't find where it is coming from.
How about tracking down that book Burgs, I think all of those "Heavyweights" should know that we (TWF) exist, if don't already.....I'm sure we could add even more "weight" to their positon of power?Originally Posted by Burgs
