Thank you for the information Petalz. Changes nothing as far as I'm concerned. Nice try though.

I believe some of the angst comes from his arrival and wanting to play fullback and completely fluffing it...then at the end of his contract denying he was leaving while his mother let the cat out of the bag at a Force family dinner in Canberra prior to the Brumbies match.
Oooh, yeah, I'd forgotten the fullback thing.

Seems a lot of love. My abiding memory of him has always been coloured by his interview in 2010 after joining the 'Tahs, when it was "I guess I've just had an emphasis on work-rate this year. In previous years I've found myself just drifting through games"

My enduring memory of Drew, besides his fullback antics, was after his last match for the Force in the members bar. He walked onto stage and was full on booed by the majority of members in the bar. To the point where he was forced to say they're saying "Drew"! (Rather than boo!)
In that last match, which we lost after the siren, he was seen "giggling ' with Matt Giteau in midfield rather than concentrating on the game that was going on around him. It was more than a couple of fans than weren't unhappy to see him go!
That said both he and Gits matured while in France and where great on their return to Australian Rubby. Therefore he deserves our respect and thanks for his service to Australian Rugby ( such as it is! )
My memory is of last December - where both Drew and Matt Gitteau not only helped out with our Petition to save the Force by retweeting it to their large amount of followers- they also signed the petition as well.
They didnt have to do either.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
