Think Gerry meant Spencer, muddy.
& that famous 2003 world cup intercept
I heard Luke McAlister is on the radar...
i dont like this whole 'buy a new 5/8' crap, i mean how does that make someone like Scott Daruda feel, he has been doing the hard yards for years behind Giteau and other before him, and now he gets completely overlooked again.
Mitchell needs to accept that buying 'ready made' players isnt always the solution, give Daruda a shot at least.
Can't believe I actually agree with you on something TOCC. Daruda is an excellent 10. Has always been consistent and gives 100%. I think he should be played the rest of the season at 10. Put Giteau back where he should be at 12 and O'Connor can come on to replace him after 50 minutes![]()
Daruda has been with the team since the begining and is still signed for 2010, He should be given a chance when Gits goes, hopefully J O'C will stay and can be played at 12 with Spanner as the backup. I would have thought McAllister would be wanting to be signed up by a NZ team so he can push his claim for RWC2011
I do agree I am not a fan going and getting a Flyhalf off the International shelf, as I am also not a fan of the oversees player option at all.
That said, while he is s l o w l y improving (block your ears Scotty) Daruda is not yet of S14 starting standard either despite getting considerable match time over the seasons and often being the usual first pick Gold Flyhalf.
I mean him no harm, he has certainly stuck by the team, but I think we need an answer from a different (preferably Australian eligible) player.
"Bloody oath we did!"

CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
Most of the fascination with thehas been the discovery factor - if the force weren't here who would have discovered and nutured household names like - Shepherd, Pocock, Brown, Cross and even Ioane (yes I know he left us but boy did he leave as a far better player than he arrived.)
Perhaps the force should consider spending less on marquee and put more emphasis on creating a winning TEAM.
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
If we could pick up an olden cheapish (yeah pipe dream I know) they could act as a mentor to the juniors and maybe play a bench role and come on for the last 20 to close out the game. Guys like Andrew Mehrtens and Carlos Spencer can't be too pricey these days and have flittered about for a while in Europe. They could teach the youngens a thing or two and come on at the 60 minute mark and make the right decisions and win the game. Tony Brown could be another option there. Just a thought though. I certainly don't think a starter should be bought so long as we have Daruda and JO'C.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
