I was at the pre season game in Melbourne, Force V Crusaders in 2006. There was a huge crowd, plenty of kiwis and saffers plus Melbourne does have a fairly big rugby following (they really love their sport over there hey Burgs) especially with the ARC coming to town this year I would expect the Vics will fight pretty hard for it. The Crusdaers were always looking at Melbourne to be their home in Oz.

looks good. they have great home games again next season and the bye is in a great spot.
Many Force supporters over your way Gus? I remember there were heaps of WCE supporters in the "pre-Crows" days of the AFL. Basically because the Eagles were not Victorian and had no Vic connection. Good reasons. Poor choiceOriginally Posted by gustafsl

Playing the crusaders in Perth , you will always get a good crowd the last time we played them here in season 1 they must have had 4-5k supporters at Subi![]()
...but it's OK because the InnForcers will be in Brisbane to support them - so it'll be almost like an extra home game! (just like in Sydney this year!Originally Posted by shasta

I think it may refer to new programs - Mitchell was talking about building strength & bulk, wasn't he? But yeah, not very 'exclusive' I agree!Originally Posted by AndyS

cannot understand the "suprise".
the fixtures are out up to 2010.
Ah... the timing almost worked out perfectly (going from a Feb 8 or Feb 15 start date) of the Force playing the Reds in Brissie and AS' 21st being on the same weekend but I think it just misses out, dilemma for me!

Could end by tomorrow
If anyone is interested facing the Crusaders in round 4 is probably pretty good. I recall some pretty serious talk about the Stormers and Crusaders playing their round 3 match at Twichenham. That'd put some pretty serious travel time behind them I'd imagine.
Not really sure. Basically if it's not AFL then you don't hear anything about it here. Rugby gets about the same coverage as the local badminton competition. Usually get one little article per week buried deep in the sports section after 10-15 pages of afl. And generally the article talks about one specific game from that week. There were quite a few people at the Rugby 7's that had Force gear on, but having talked to a few of them, I think most came from WA.Originally Posted by shasta
Having said all that though, I think people in Adelaide generally flock to one off events even if they know nothing about it. I'm willing to bet that if one of the Australian Super 14 teams played a pre-season match here and it was done right (ie:decent price and not at AAMI stadium) they would get a good crowd in.
