trust me, that is a very good thing, Te Moana was big and strong, but stupid and lacked technique... well according to some props that scrummed against him, his flaws were shown up big time at S14 level. On top of that he was a hot head and really not a player suited to professional rugby.
Big Dog, Bad Dog.
Brother Gallagher I hear you
Wonder if he will make the open day tomorrow morning - Toulon's website reckon his nickname is BC
61 years between Grand Slams Was the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
I am bloody over the moon about this one. From the moment Mourad announced a few players being cut back on I thought that'd be a great score for this year but its getting a bit late. It still is a bit late but definitely still a great score. I don't know how he played for Toulon (but honestly- who has played well for Toulon?) but I wouldn't be disheartened about him being let go.
For anyone who cares he used to play for the Bay of Plenty Steamers (aligned with the Chiefs franchise) in the NPC/ANZC and was their captain for a while too. He also has been first choice tighthead for the Chiefs for the last three years and has played a fair bit with the Junior All Blacks. Without going as crazy as Chiselhead I have to say that IMHO there is no negative side to this (unless he has an unmentioned injury). Like I said he spend most of his time in the last three years as first choice tighthead for the Chiefs and they have a fairly solid scrum. I just hope it doesn't take him too long to get settled.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
He had better start preferring mopeds! Takiari, Whalley, Holmes all in the front row, all ride mopeds.
I'd prefer to have one of our original Aussie players in the mix but if we're aiming for finals then I guess it will have to be who ever is best for the job.
Good luck to him.
sorry dude I forgot to add the link

BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
Yet to determine if he is a marquee signing or not as he isn't an AB but unknown if he is Wallaby eligable.
Any further info out there yet?
I'm not a fan of the marquee player concept but am comfortable with getting Wallaby potentials "back home".
This state is getting overrun by hairy backs, how come they aren't doing their job and breeding us some nice big-boned lads yet???
So far they have been Loosies and Outside Backs
