Timbo you're right of course ! After Mr Sinderberry asking me for ideas to reward the 10 yr members I had hoped for a small gesture! Still what will be will be!
maybe give them some time
Nope! It's not tongue in cheek.
I find it insulting!
There are a lot of fair weather fans out there.
People who only buy a membership when the team is winning.
To say that those members who have stuck by the team through thick and thin should be treated the same way as someone who bought a membership because the team is finally doing well is, I feel, an insult.
To say, join with us in our 10 year celebration, but to ignore those who have been there for the whole journey is an insult.
It's not about generations or entitlement.
You either don't do anything to celebrate the ten years or, if your going to focus on it, you need to recognize those who have helped support the team for all those years.
you do realise that season 10 hasn't started yet? what about the people who have supported it for 9 years? are they 'fair weather fans'? or someone like myself, who was a uni student and could not afford a membership, but has been a member for as long as i could?
I am all for rewarding the 10 year members, but having a hissy fit and moaning about it for not being rewarded is staggering.
what would you rather - spend the extra money on keeping the badger in the team, or getting a cool 10 year badge?
Perhaps people need to take a break from being disappointed, and perhaps think that this is the most organised the membership office has ever been, this is the most communications that we have ever had before a season starts. they are seeming more professional and more organised than ever before. perhaps they spent the $20k they saved on 10y members to get a short term placement to ensure the team is organised early for their tilt at the 10th season?

You have your views.
I have mine.
I can respect your point of view.
Don't give a damn how you feel about mine.
Call me a fence sitter, but I can empathise a bit with both of you.
I'm certainly not going to jump up and down about it, but it would have been nice to have a bit of recognition (beyond the fact that I now have a great seat to watch the historic tenth season and first finals appearance)
C'mon the
M15 give yourself un upper cut. That is a disgraceful attitude!!
But thats only my opinion.
I'm with Gigs, I think you both have points. Having been a member for 10 years is something worth something, but that is regardless of when they joined. The memberships team must know who joined when, so some distinctive piece of merchandise would be nice whenever a member achieves that milestone. Maybe another pin at 15, something else at 20, etc.
