Magnay said EWF might have problems keeping their star players due to the Firepower mess but they have all signed on again which wasn't mentioned in the story.

Why let anything positive about the Force get in the way of her story! SMH wouldn't sell any papers if they mentioned all the positives of the Force and the fact that they are actually progressing and making money and retaining their players!

Sydney Kings and Rabbitohs were mentioned - but they were the victims. Evil Force are to blame...

Gerrard Ryle is writing a book about firepower.

Magnay even dropped a statement along the lines of "we on the east coast" - I dont recall the context, but was derisive from memory...

That's a great use of language from a journalist. But perhaps an additional "e" makes more sense to that line and using a point of view "wee on the east coast" is more appropriate.

Cheers Coach, I missed the 'we on the east coast thing' so I'll be looking forward to seeing the context of that one

Yes, but you won't see the best part on a transcript - Skiza's "I Have Faith" banner made it on Statewide.

It screens again at Midday BTW.

Transcripts of last weeks Stateline are now up- here for anyone interested and our out-of-state friends.

Here is a quote I'm loving:

JACQUELIN MAGNAY: "You could say that the Western Force have been burying their heads in the sand long before any club in the east took action. I think that once the South Sydney Rabbitohs did take some action that maybe there should have been a little bit more internal look at what Firepower was doing.
But of course, again, if the money is being paid, then there's no reason for the Western Force to be questioning it."

Can anyone explain that bolded bit to me- so the Force are to be blamed for not taking action long before anyone, anywhere, thought there was a problem?? They're a rugby team- not an Oracle!
That last part even concedes the point, which Geoff Stooke also made- for 2 1/2 years the money was coming in as it should be- what was suppossed to be setting off these alarm bells???

Yeah thinking about the Website etc.. if they take down the banners etc.. then they will be in breach of contract - so I guess they have to have them a while longer to fullfill their contract - in the hope that they recover some of the dosh - interesting to see what RugbyWa do next - anyone know any companies with a lazy couple of mill to hang out on sponsorship with exposure in Sth Africa, New Zealand and Australia

Woodside or BHP would be have a few spare dollars hanging around and a fair bit of worldwide exposure. Im also pretty sure that Andrew Forrest, being the proud West Aussie that he is, wouldn't mind chipping in a few of Fortescue Metals' dollars to help WA's rugby team and he could have a massive Force logo on the side of his new fancy pants train.
