I grew up in Belmont in the eighties and early nineties we invented the Bogan. AC/DC T shirts and DB's were part of the school uniform. Mullet was an optional extra and flannys were part of the winter wardrobe. Blue singlet was the summer wardrobe.

Actually Bogan wasn't even a word then we were just called bogs.

Where I grew up we were called "Rockers" (I don;t think the term Bogan even existed?) - black ripple soled desert boots ("Ripples"), Black jeans - preferably TIGHT, Holden Jacket (or Ford Jacket), some metal band t-shirt - Iron Madien, Judas Priest, Motorhead - I got beat up for listening to otehr music - , Winnie Reds (Winnie Blues were what the chicks smoked), Black Socks - wrong coloured socks could get you beat up - red socks were a definate no no - hair style didn't matter much, so long as it was on the long side (the term Mullet was yet to be coined AFAIK).
