He said that the Stormers line-out would be throw and pray this year but I seem to recall that they had one of the best line-outs in the competition last year with Bekker. Hmmm we'll see Dave.

I don't encourage propaganda rags by spending money on them, but I am curious, was there anything in the liftout about club rugby?

Last year they did on the back page Fulv, so I would expect the same as we move into the season proper....

This is the West, they are hopeless when it comes to rugby most of the articles come straight off rugby heaven, word for word no effort......Burgs The Queer one, are u a journo's at least u know what u r talking about.

Thanks guys. I thought as much, although at this stage of the season I suppose you can't really blame them.

From Palmyra's perspective, we are still getting 25 plus at training, including colts and lower grades, and we hope to be able to field a side in the Perth State 7's, although how competitive it will be is a moot point at this stage. We appear to have lost a lot of players, but hopefully the situation will improve as the pre-season progresses.

Our Georgian recruits are yet to arrive, but should make some difference when they do.

I suppose misery loves company to a large extent, but it would be interesting to know how other clubs are coping.

We are having some trouble finding jobs and accomodation for potential new recruits due to the global economic crisis, it's certainly not as easy as a year or so ago. The Georgians will be ok when they arrive , but the half dozen other potentials are a real worry at this stage.

Ah well, we're probably not orphans.
