I guess the main point is that if the Force moves to ME in 2010, then one of 2 things may have to happen.
- The Force membership renewals for 2010 will have to drop by around the same percentage as they dropped for 2009 (i.e. drop below say 9,000, if that is the number of quality seats available at ME), or
- Some existing members will be getting a letter similar to the following:
"Dear valued and soon to be former Gold Member
As a result of the Force's long anticipated move to the superior Member's Equity stadium, the Emirates Western Force is pleased to offer you renewal of an exclusive Lead membership in 2010. This high quality membership package will provide you with a premium unreserved standing spot at the prestigious northern end of the Members Equity Stadium, where, unless you are more than 6 feet tall, you may be able to catch memorable glimpses of Nathan Sharpe's head in a lineout.
We remind you that this is an exclusive offer and we urge you to renew at your earliest convenience."

why does the Force membership base have to fall to fit into MES?
There was always a Members Bar at the ground, they just can't justify the expense of the marquee any more.
Due to logistics for the first two rounds I was unfortunately unable to get to the Bowlo pre match, so with about twenty minutes to go to kick off in Round 1, I thought I would go have a spy around this Members Bar that I had to walk past anyway.
Glad I did, nice and cool, plenty of screens playing Rugby, full strength beer, it actually felt a bit like a clubhouse.
I also ran into some Rugby mates from many a year ago which was an added bonus.
With a ten minute warning you casually walk across an internal bridge and around to your seat.
Post match same thing for two hours and you get the players out for a bit of Q&A too.
I know there are many advantages to the Bowlo, and if I have more time pre match next time I'm down I'll be there for sure, but the Members Bar is a far easier alternative I have to admit!

Hmmm... Bowlo or Members Bar, Bowlo or Members Bar....
Decisions decisions!
Might be tempted sometime to try Bowlo pre-match for a warm-up pint and some bbq snags, then Members Bar post-match...

There's probably enough time to do both pre-match Em?
I think Members is only open for 90 minutes pre-match (maybe the other way around...) so perhaps an early Bowlo, a casual rather than frantic transition to the Oval and then a couple off the wood before kick off?

Ah - I like your thinking...
Just have to make sure the bbq gets fired up good & early at the bowlo and we're sorted.
By the way, sort of back on topic, I'm sure that the lack of seating while stands were being constructed at MES would be an issue, but if they could get temporary stands in for the season and do the work offseason couldn't that resolve the issue?
It's not like we have a provincial competition to house after S14 finishes. They'd just have to work out how to play any off-season friendlies.
And there's a practice pitch out the back - 50m by 80m. Room for a marquee or two, I'd imagine...
