Lote could be an... OK centre, but I don't see him replacing Stirlo and I doubt Deans will muck about with the concept during the international season. Crossy surely stands ahead of him on the stands for 13, and Rob Horne is already playing some amazing rugby at the Tahs in 13 so he wouldn't get much time there even at Super14 level. Don't see it happening, even if it could work pretty well. Plus Lote's getting on a bit, he'll be retiring soon
Lote's wing spot ain't looking too good. I think Turner did alright last week. WHAT has happened to our very own NICK CUMMINS? He's just vanished. Was he not selected due to injury? Maybe Deans will give him a turn later on.
Is that why Crossy wasn't there? What's wrong with him? Hope he's back next game.
A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

Some nice words Robyn... I agree that Lote could need a season at 13 on S14… However he has played some 13… Cross and I’m a fan is good and safe but not a genuine standout...
Yet when you look at the Tahs you could play the following line up next year; 9 Burgess, 10 Halangahu, 12Tahu/Horne, 13 Tuqiri, 11 Micthell, 14 Turner and Beale 15…
I seem to think that connoly tried lote at centre for the wallabies and he has played their for the Tahs, did not set the world on fire. Cross is a much better option to back Stirling at 13 and cooper seems to have the inside running on back upo to Barnes at 12
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
drew=wing. NOT fullback
and if lote gets 13, or replaces stirlo/cross at outside; i'll donate blood.
thus being my point.
stirlo is the first choice 13 for the wallabies. my opinion is that cross is second. cross being a specialist 13 - to me - would pace him in front of a utility back to come off the bench for that posistion. because stirlo can still play out 80 mins. a utility back could be better utilised elsewhere. but cross on the bench could be hugely devestating comming on around 60m, because he can make the big tackles. and he can run angles, break tackles and is everything you would expect from a number fresh and eager 13. but at a certain stage of the game. he is a weapon which can be deployed at the right time for maximum effect. he has proven that he can stand up to other international players. i think he should be there

basically i think lote should start or play club rugby
That could depend on what happens next year, Halangahu at 10 and Beale at 12 worked for them in those last two games so we may see more of the same next year
Jesus the kid has only played how many games of Super 14. He wasn't picked in the squad in the first place, give him time he is still young
Mortlock played 12 without having played 12 at Super 14
possibly, but a hard running utility player would probably have the same impact comming on after an hour. Cross would be a starter yes, but his abilty to only play 13 may see his bench opportunities limited as coaches look to cover the entire backline on the bench. Obviously that will come down to what Aussie Rob wants in his gameplan
Cross on the wing? Why because of injuries and no further reserve backs...
