what we need. is our first choice team.
And in a perfect world we'd have that, but wouldn't you want your coach to have some backup plans incase you didn't have your first/second/third choice team?
We're making basic mistakes like isolating the backs or watching the line and not the ball, that's down to coaching and training.
Don't forget a lot of the green players have played for Argonauts & force gold.
you are right.
but i think the gameplan is being parially hampered by the fact that the boys in the team at the moment havent had enough time together collectivley.
espicially with all the short term guys.
over the off season they trained with all the new blokes.
and now each week there is someone else different as well.
give it some time.
realistically, finals are out of the question nowbut thats not gonna stop the boys from playing some good rugby when it all clicks
Hello 2006.
"12 Years aSupporter" starring the #SeaOfBlue
Crap - pure and simple.
The time for excuses is past.
What happens next year if they don't perform?
watching our attack has cured my insomnia
Force had the same problems as last game against the Chiefs - an inability to secure lineout ball cost us pressure, position, possesion and points. Defence was also poor and although the kicking game was a little better today, it still needs improving.
The good thing is hopefully sooner or later we'll win one - however unlike the main character of Michael Palin's Ripping Yarn "Golden Gordon" I haven't resorted to destroying the house every time they lose, but I might go a little crazy when they do win.
Faingaa ran through the 10-12 channel at will
He was tackle shy
He didn't threaten the line
He didn't run any plays
He didn't organise any attacks
He was out of position to take the first pass frequently
The pace of the game was beyond the poor old boy
I see in one of your earlier posts you recommended moving Rabbit to 10......'nuff said
Controversy corner
For those who want to stick the knives into John Mitchell you have to remember that McKenzie (who just about everyone is raving about as a super coach) took the Tahs from 3rd place in 2006 to 13th in 2007. Mostly down to the loss of Vickerman and Phil Waugh. Injuries to top players screw sides regardless of what the coach does.
I just wish the Force had picked up the Faingaa twins way back when the Brumbies bailed on them.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Ok where to start, Faingaa ran at O'Connor & DHP, not Hill and most of his metres gained were during broken play. Hill was actually defending at outside quite a bit with DHP moving in.
He got a yellow card for tackling too early, the opposite of being tackle shy!
He ran the loop around with O'Connor about 5 times, something he did a lot for the mooloo. The problem was when it got to the outside backs they either dropped it or got isolated.
I don't think he is there to organise attacks right now, it would be a bit naive to expect him to do that after spending only a week with the force.
See above.
I could agree with that, but I'd put it down more to not being used to this sort of Rugby rather than just being horrible.
I do want O'Connor at 10, but only so he can have his runs as a perm option, I'd still keep Hill in the pocket to do most of the kicking. This would just open up another option and keep the other teams defence on their toes.
Gotta love Sharpie for an honest opinion:
"There's no doubt everyone's shitty at themselves, and that's a good thing after a performance like that so we'll regroup and get stuck in again."

what we need is a lineout...
All pressure gained was lost everytime the ball went into touch...; i really dont want to look at the stats for lineouts...
Holding the ball has shite, too much dropped ball.
I really liked to see DHP tap and run, would have been good, except the pass slipped forwards. There was nothing to lose and i thought it was good to see. he impresses me with some things, but i dont think he is great.
BUT! what we need is a lineout...
A lot of people, myself included, were hoping that Pek and and Tyrell would improve their throws with time. So far no good. The pressure of losing so much set piece in the first half went straight on the scoreboard. They lost 5 of their throws; the Reds lost 3. The problem was those 5 losses were compounded by the 4-0 "not straight count" - 3 very dubious. I'd bench Wykes for Hocking. The ARU really did us a favour by ruling against the two Kiwi rakes.
DHP looked like a startled rabbit in the spotties. His defence has been shite every time he's been on the park this season. Hill will be persevered with. I'd put Rabbit back to 15, Spanner 12, Cross 13, Inman 14, Cummins 11. Hunt & DHP on the bench.
Brett Sheehan has been an outstanding contributor every time he's played.
The Referee was the most incompetent I've seen in Super rugby.
