So, per capita, Sandgropers are the most enthusiastic Wallaby supporters in the country and Growden & Co still have their heads firmly planted in their ani.

so by averages it's better for the Wallabies to play test matches in venues that hold 43,000 or less?

    How many does Scumbiaco seat?

It probably helped that I didn't care about the result

Wallabies 2 for 2 with Sharpie as Captain. The defence rests, your honour.
Nathan Sharpe captained the Wallabies against the ABs in 2004 I think in Wellington. We got pumped.

+1 Watched it on IQ this morning and managed to wake the house up at 6am when Sharpie was sent clear by Quade (only to be held up ) How good was it to see the big man flying like a winger!

    Why, tic?

    Populations of the states:
New South Wales - 7.3 million
    Victoria - 5.6 million
    Queensland - 4.5 million
    West Australia - 2.4 million

So, the Sydney test against Wales was watched by 0.6% of the state's population, the Brisbane test against Wales and Sydney test against the All Blacks were watched by ~1% of the state's population, and the Perth test against the Saffers was watched by 1.4% of the state's population.

So what's wrong with Shasta's comment about the supporters per capita?

(Apart from ~1/3 of the crowd at Subi being Saffers anyway )

If Crowden and the ARU have got their knickers in a knot because "only" 34,377 people showed up at sub-standard Subiaco oval for the RSA-Australia test, then we'd have to assume that they are apoplectic over the 33,888 who showed up at Etihad in Melbourne for the Wales-Australia test (I was there and the bloody stadium was half-empty) and the miserable 22,278 who showed up for the Argentina-Australia test at the Gold Coast last night (which is in effect a distant suburb of Brisbane these days, about an hour's public transport ride from Brisbane).

Or perhaps in the eyes of the blazered Hooray Henrys of the ARU (and the NSWRU), one Queenslander or even one Melburnian attendee (horror of horrors) at a rugby test is worth at least two Western Australian attendees. If tests played outside of NSW and Qld are really causing that much angst for the ARU and their acolytes in the media (such as Crowden), then perhaps they should come clean with the Australian rugby community and admit that as far as they are concerned, rugby union is a game for gentlemen from the right public schools of Brisbane and Sydney, and the rest of the country should f! off and be content with AFL and League ....

I am not sure of the exact prices, but the ARU are pricing test matches out of the affordability of the general public.

The tickets for the Bledisloe Cup match in Sydney was $180 each. Not exactly something you take the missus and 2 kids to go and experience.

Buy some food, a couple of rounds of drinks, car parking (tho free train travel for ticket holders is good) you are looking at a $1000 night. Now come on - that is ridiculous for 100 minutes of entertainment.

You'd be lucky to get the 100 minutes.

Sharpie didn't start the game vs SA as captain, and was he even officially captain after Genia went off? Either way, 10 minutes doesn't count.

    WA. - 2.5.

    Your choice Tic:

    1. You don't know how to use a calculator
    2. You don't know that per capita can mean in proportion as well as per head.
    3. You didn't know the respective population figures and didn't bother checking.

P.S. I should have read Sheik's post before I wrote that

But I'm gonna leave it anyway.
