Brilliant minds think alike!..or did it just stick in the back of my mind?
Referring to your original post, I reckon we could get the man himself to present the cup now that Disney owns it all
a couple of years ago - when we had a bit of a repartee with a group of Tahs fans we were trying to get the Canno Cup going after Brendan Cannon. As he had played for both the Tahs and the Force. If memory serves me right we tried to send him an email but he never got back to us.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
I sent an email to the organisers at the Rebel Army an email and here's their response. Any of you going on the innForcer tour interested in making contact to pursue further?
Hi Guys
Over at the Western Force supporters site we have been discussing on and off over the past year the idea of petitioning SANZAR to have match days that fall on May the 4th be set aside for a Rebels vs Force Derby.
Our interest in this concept is based on the fact that as the newbies in the competition, neither team has much in the way traditions. This suggestion, albeit tongue in cheek, is one that we feel would quickly gain rapport with our fans.
I was interested to know what your supporters thought of the idea so I could pass this on to the rest of our group to see if it was worth pursuing further.
Regardless, we also thought of the idea of playing for a Cup, whether it be on an 'official' level or just at our supporter group level.
The only suggestion we have at this stage for naming the cup is the 'The Jorge Lookiss Cup'
Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Andrew,
That sounds like a great idea.
I don't know how practical SANZAR would think it, potentially scheduling a game midweek. (And boy do I love the "theme" it's even my niece's birthday!)
If that isn't practical, perhaps we can try and start a petition for Good Friday night to be our game. Whilst AFL doesn't currently have a stake in Good Friday football we should latch on. Alternating between home and away each year.
We have a contact at SANZAR and will see what's possible. He is very pro fans ideas and would be quite responsive to the "new" teams trying to make a tradition.
Are you coming across for the game on Friday? We try and catch up with innforcers for a bevvy or 3 over their pub crawls.
Cheers
They find us Andrew![]()

paragraph 2
The Brumbies had asked for the anthems of Australia and New Zealand to be played before the match. The club have been heavily promoting the game and are pressing SANZAR to make an Anzac Day match in Canberra a regular part of the schedule, following a successful tradition established in rugby league.
