Keep the faith Shaun - Rugby is a good thing and strangely enough the Spirit typifies the sport.

Shame there is so many sceptic, AFL orientated media and Sand Gropers with their head in the sand!

I hope we don't end up with a wildcats, Glory or a Reds...

i believe there is too much grass roots support for this to happen, the core group supporters and sponsors will always keep the attendances up to a reasonable amount compared to the eastern states clubs.

Hopefully you are right Slomo but they still have to show up. I also noticed the tepid ticket sales, but have my fingers crossed that there will be a lot of gate sales. I wasn't going to take the risk on finding a good seat (being chronically tardy), but almost any seat will be better than Subi so I don't think there is the same motivation to finalise seats. I have to say I am a little disappointed about the lack of promotion, so they'll have to do something to spark interest. Hopefully a couple of the Sydney teams do well...if the Australian/SMH get interested, the West Australian might notice it is on.

booked my tickets today online no platinium ($40) left and only a few for upper gold ($30). one thing with these ticketmaster tickets you can't print them out you're self, and i couldn't see a link for home delivery, it was either venue or outlet pick which is no good for anyone!!!

A few of us from GTT are going to the Rays v (gay) Fleet on Friday, should boost the numbers by 6 or so (Nth Sydney Oval). The lack of advertising is frightening in its absence. Like I've mentioned before, those who are not super keen on rugby like us here on TWF or GTT et al have no idea that this comp is on (same story for the ARC v 2006).

Should be a good night out though, for the dedicated.

The lack of advertising is very strange....shouldn't think Mazda will be too happy about it either.

Perhaps after the broom is put through the ARU by O'Neill and co. a new ARC will be constructed for 08? I hope so.

Having said that though, i'm looking forward to watching some of these games. Its a deadset desert between S14 and the next S14 season excluding internationals and some Shute Shield games.

Apparently the Vikings have only sold 400 "season" memberships (which I am one of)... but are expecting abut 3000 at the games, though the first round will be smaller as it clashes with the final round of club competition.

15000 would be amazing but I suspect less, even 10k would be great and I'm sure more than what was budgeted for. Get your beers early folks!
