Perth 23 March 2013. Rugby fans will get their first chance to experience the new $95.14million redevelopment of nib Stadium tonight when the Western Force host their first home game of the 2013 season.
Premier Colin Barnett will officially open the redeveloped stadium at a VIP function before the game. He said the new venue offered greater spectator comfort, better viewing and some of the best sightlines for rectangular sports in Australia.
“Crowd capacity in the redeveloped stadium - which includes the impressive new eastern grandstand - will be about 20,500, with rectangular sports like soccer, rugby league and rugby union using the East Perth venue,” Mr Barnett said.
“This project has had a very tight timeframe and it is a credit to the State’s project team, BGC Construction and their sub-contractors, that it has been delivered on time and budget.
“In addition, the State Government was able to deliver a new permanent southern stand and seating to the northern bowl within the $95.14million budget.”
Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron said he was pleased to see the project finished in time for the Western Force’s first home fixture for 2013.
“Fans can expect a really exciting night of rugby as we welcome the Force back to nib Stadium and enjoy the comfort of the striking eastern grandstand,” Mr Waldron said.
Highlights of the redevelopment include:
a permanent eastern stand, including 420 Open Corporate Reserve seats
a permanent southern stand
the completion of Gate 1 heritage works
the installation of two 110sqm LED video boards and LED perimeter signage - the biggest in WA venues
stadium lighting and drainage around the pitch perimeter
the completion of northern corporate suites
whole of stadium PA and CCTV systems.

Northern bowl seating?? Does that mean no more standing area?

Hmmm, getting close. Guess I will see you all at 4! :-)

Sounds like a coded message. This is just like being in the Da Vinci Code.
"See you all at 4" is an encrypted code for 'I live at flat number 4. Free beverages for everyone who shows up in WF colours".
(Assault victims don't count though. just because you're black and blue, doesn't mean you're entitled to a complimentary beverage.)
There's always a catch

If it was a da Vinci message, "four" would refer to something more like this - http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_t...n_Christianity. You may be onto something there though...
Anyone else liking these new seats? :-)

found the seating goodvision is all good from my seat more room to move but people need to check there entry stairs and not walk along the front rows
Had good seats in the second row. Only problem was the freakin fox sports dweebs standing in the way of the game.
maybe they were trying to stop me from seeing our guys kick possession away all game![]()
