That's bad timing Jargs. If you cough up 10 bucks you'll at least get the highlights of Origin 2 on Sky News in flight.

    Tell me about it!

Will avoid any news broadcasts until arrival in Melbourne. Catch one of the Fox Sports replays

Being anything other then an AFL fan here in Perth you adapt to methods of avoiding all news broadcasts waiting for the game you want to watch thanks to crap scheduling by TV networks

As airlines battle to clear the backlog from the weekend disruptions, forecasters today warned a second ash cloud could cross southeastern Australia within the next two days with the potential for further flight delays.

Supervising meteorologist at the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre in Darwin, Gordon Jackson, said the cloud currently over Victoria and Tasmania would remain for the next 12 to 36 hours.

"It's in an area where there is very little wind therefore it's not going to be moving northward, so (it will be) moving to the east and to the west and spreading out a bit," he said.

Mr Jackson said the centre was monitoring a second ash plume hovering over the ocean south of Australia.

"It depends on how the wind is moving. It may actually be brought up over Tasmania and Victoria in 48 hours," he said.

If it dosent clear up soon the delays will be huge, I do not fly out until Friday morning hopefully it will all be blown over by then,if not we all will be spending the next weekend watching some games at the pub, including the players who will have an unscheduled weekend off.

Suggest we all re-route to Adelaide and give Ox 3 days to acquire a bus and the licence to drive it

This ash cloud is supposedly between 25-35,000 feet. Anyone know what the problem is with simply flying under it through the areas where it currently floats? The added fuel costs should be outweighed by the congestion and associated costs saved.

Sounds like a plan! Makes the trip over more of an adventure. You could always have a road trip over with the team.

I heard that NZ flights were flying under it. The same when the UK was affected by the same thing recently - I think maybe domestic/smaller planes can fly under it, at a certain level
