UPDATED: 5.30PM (WST) from the Perth Airport site
Advice from the Bureau of Meteorology’s Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre indicates that it is likely the volcanic ash cloud over Perth will dissipate and move out to sea overnight. This will allow airlines to review their schedules for arrivals and departures on Thursday 16 June.
An update will be provided at 7.30am tomorrow morning, Thursday 16 June, relating to the services operating to and from Perth Airport.
The following airlines are continuing to suspend some/all services until midnight tonight (Wednesday 15 June):
• Garuda Indonesia – services delayed only
• Strategic – all services cancelled
• Maroomba, Network, Cobham, Skippers – all services cancelled
• Tiger Airways – TR2719 & TR 2717 (to and from Singapore) cancelled
• Virgin Australia - all services from 1pm to midnight (WST)
• South African Airways – SA280 & SA281 (Perth to Johannesburg)
• Skywest – some services will be suspended
• Alliance – all services from 1pm to midnight (WST)
• Qantas – all services from 1pm to midnight (WST)
• Jetstar – all services from 1pm to midnight (WST
At this time, 56 flights have been affected:
• International – 7 departures, 7 arrivals
• Domestic – 20 departures, 23 arrivals (Note: Domestic Terminal 3 services only – Domestic
figures do not include Qantas or Jetstar services)
• Collectively, these cancellations will affect thousands of travellers
