me and mum were considering going to sydeny then to perth so we could see to games but i'm not sure if i can convince her to see a force v 'tahs game

At Ti Tree camp where I used to work was 50 in the shade. I left a set of sun glasses on the dash of my truck and the lenses melted.

Lost count of the cassettes and pens I have lost to the heat.
Just before Christmas I had a deodarant can explode on my dashboard and crack the windscreen.
Went out there to go for a drive and everything was white!
On the upside it smells a bit better than it was previously...

My friend's theory made me smile - along the lines that:
The Force realised the media was always going to look for stories over the quiet months, so they just created one out of nothing to avoid any actual distraction. All the supposed protagonists then issue strict "no comments", the peripheral players are unusually co-operative making double-edged or provocative comments and the media is nicely occupied while everyone just gets on with more important things.
