The boys really showed true determination and you have got to be happy with that.
I'm not normally one to pick on refs too much but seriously...what the hell? Ecky can you please explain to me why Fava was sent off? And why it was impossible for them to notice that the Bulls pent the majority of their time offside? And why the touchies missed every single call no matter if they were standing right in front of it? I'm actually quite serious because maybe i'm understanding the rules wrong or something but there did seem to be an awful amount of mistakes, exacerbated by the ref shrugging his shoulders to complaints 3 times and changing his mind on an offside call twice!

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
well not die, but should reconsider coming to the games

Well i'm sitting at home watching freo vs west coast and it looks like they couldnt get the big "toyota" sponsor sign painted with all the wet weather.
all they've got is a little toyota sign instead of the usual big red one that the AFL has.
the "Fly Emirates" sponsor was so thinly painted last nite i could see the green of the grass through it in some places.
the funniest thing is the Rugby sponsors Investec are still nicely visable
guh. the things they do for AFL these days

Maybe Toyota should also sponsor the Force then they could have their sign permanently on the ground and everyone would be a winner!! Emirates sign should have been painted better! They can always spray a little green paint over it after!
Well atleast it would be marginally better then. Its the best we can get unless Toyota want to sponsor the $35million for a whole stadium!
OK, here goes:
1) Fava was sin binned, not sent off. Ref had previously spoken to Sharpie about cynical play. Fava was the next to be cynical. He had to go. Sorry. I am as one-eyed as everyone else in here but that was, well, fair enough in the circumstances.
2) A slight exaggeration there... It wasn't "the majority of their time" nor was it all that often - from where I was sitting. But yes, he did miss a few.
3) "every single call" may be the next slight exaggeration. (And they're "Assistant Referees" these days) It depends on what the ref asked his AR's to assist him with during the game - some particularly arrogant refs tend to tell their AR's just to rule on touch, shots at goal and foul play. Nothing else. I dunno what Steve Walsh requested but maybe he could review it for his future games...
4) Rather mystifying to me, that one. Law discussion in "The Laws" thread shall follow. Suffice to say that I disagreed with his first ruling, completely agreed with his second one and then vehemently disagreed with his third one when he reverted to his first one. (but then I am a mere 1st/2nd Grade ref in Community Rugby in WA)This could cause more debate in the refereeing fraternity than Spanner's (correctly-called) no-try decision in NZ. Give me a bit of time and I'll post some stuff on it.
end of the day a good win
