I thought Beale's defence was poor, why he and Cooper keep going into tackles so high is beyond me - more like league than union. Japan showed just how effective consistent low tackling can be against the Boks. Benny Mac and McMahon played well, as did Mitchell. The pass he dropped early was very poor, way above his head, Greg Martin hammered him for it unfairly IMHO and he ended up playing well, looking for the ball, running good lines when he came in and finishing well. Speight was also OK. Toomua runs hard, but he really needs to make better decisions on looking for the late pass and consider ball security better, as he did in the second half.
Sets things up for a MASSIVE game against the Poms - atmosphere will be huge and the Poms have everything on the line - a bit worried about how the set piece will go.
If we play controlled footy and don't get penalised out of the match we should beat them and they will be knocked out in the pool stage of a home RWC - how nervous would you be going into that match! Any penalties inside our own half will be worth 3 points to the Poms, so our discipline will have to be better than it has been for years.
