Watched a bit of Soaks V Southern lions. Soaks had a strong side with mostly 2nd graders plus 6 or 7 1st graders rotating on. I don't know what the final score was but i didn't see Southern Lions score or even get close. Soaks were scoring at will & it looked like it was going to be a cricket score.

I think the concept of a wed night comp is a good one, perhaps going forward an U20 cup competition or one restricted to say 3rd or 4th grade. Trying to entice clubs to put out their best players for a mid-week game is going to fail. As far as using these games as an opportunity for junior clubs to see where they stand in comparison to the senior clubs - well it hasn't really worked.
Don't know how serious Brothers took the game,I counted 8 different coloured shorts in starting 15 and it looked bloody disgraceful however Rugby WA are being proactive in establishing some kind of comp but I just don't how much support they are going to get with this comp but at least they are trying something.
the idea of a cup is a good one, especially as there is no promotion/relegation in the leagues. getting the incentives right to temp the bigger clubs to use their better players is the key to making it worth the trouble. what about grand finals played in NIB stadium, half price or free entry to watch those games for any registered player?!?
So that's that. And what do we know that we didn't already know Sweet FA!

Joondalup for Premier grade next year?
When they couldn't even beat, from what I've been told was a Wanneroo 3rd and 4th Grade side with a couple of newbies and some youngsters?
Soaks were scoring at will & it looked like it was going to be a cricket score.
Hardly a surprise
What did Wanneroo's new signings look like? Any good players?

I doubt that any side would have used any of their new signings. Why risk injury or put them up against a side that really just wanted to cause as much damage as possible
Waste of time comp rugby WA just done it to shut district clubs up Prem clubs are not going to put top players in mid week comp so what is the point
Went to Curtin to watch a bit of Paly vs Curtin
Score was 10-5 Paly's way at half time, left shortly after half time

I'm told Curtin won 20 to 10 and that Paly had huge numbers of 3rd , 4th and 5th graders turn up to play.
i just hope the premier clubs choose to up their game towards the pointy end of the competition, after all there is silverware and reputations on the line.
