Vern, good luck wherever you go and thanks for the time in a thankless job at the head of our club.
Now, see what you've done Hansie?

It's no longer a thankless job!

In addition to recent recruitment and changes in Emirates Western Force staff and playing personnel, RugbyWA – under Reid’s guidance – has realised a number of key milestones for rugby in Western Australia, including:

    • local participation numbers exceeding 8,000 for the first time with the standard of local competition lifting significantly. Western Australia now has the third highest rugby participation numbers in the country;
That was Vern's guidance, was it?

He was instrumental in getting the Govt to fork out $100m to turn Perth Oval into a rectangular venue for the Force supporters.....
AND Vern had a lot to do with moving RugbyWA out of Perry Lakes into its new home.
The problem in 2012 was the Force did'nt win.... Well Richard Graham was the guy who recruited the players and coached the team into the pits, then he quit after a few games and created a disaster for the the Force.
Welcome to whoever takes over and best wishes in the chair.
He liased with Sharpie to sign my car..

This is a new position too, filled by a young man who knows nothing about Rugby (been in the job about a week I believe..) and is OH! so willing to learn.. Only known AFL before.. Welcome to our world young Ben Roberts..

    Its all about cows...

I once worked with a very very smart guy who taught me an important lesson in life.

If someone asks you to count the number of cows in a paddock, it is not always acceptable to count the legs and divide by 4...

While this might sometimes get you to the correct answer, sometimes it wont, and at the very least it displays that you most likely didn't understand the question... He called it an in-elegant answer

I expect that, while Vern has tried his very best to come up with the right answers along the way, perhaps sometimes his answers have been somewhat in-elegant (to say the least)…

I am going to say thanks to vern, but assume he didn’t understand the question…

Without really knowing who has been the driving force behind recruiting the new coaching staff and the concept of club relaunch I'm going to assume that Vern had a lot to do with it. Maybe his biggest contribution to the Force is yet to unfold.

Ok so lets all take a deep breath.
It's very easy to blame Vern Reid for everything but he was only able to work with what he had. He inherited John Mitchell. No more need be said.
He then had a coach, chosen by the board not him, who was underperforming more than the players, and they were bad enough. I was looking forward to him bringing down the Reds but MeKenzie has been smart enough to keep a grip there.
Graham was responsible for the ridiculous recruiting. Was Vern Reid responsible for what was happening on the field? Not directly.
I'm not suggesting that he should not shoulder some of the blame but I think we need to look at the bigger picture.

    The franchise needed an enema.
Just the Board to go to be complete.

wholetruth, would you care to share your thoughts on the "ridiculous" recruiting if Judas v2.0?
Names are good, but if not a general overview would suffice

Vern was the CEO. The handling of the whole coaching issue was a farce. The handling and recruiting have not been much better.
If it was his decision or someone else's it all come back to him at the end of the day. That is part of being a boss.

"The buck stops here" I think is the kind of thing you are at Snob?
And the responsability for the CEO lays at the feet of the Chairman.
