we caught the end of the 1st half, was good to see dan bailey having a good run!! didnt see any of the 2nd half as we went in at the end of the 1st - boy are they strict at members equity!! we werent allowed to bring our own powerade bottles into the ground, they went through all our bags and we had to be escorted everywhere... bit full on i thought!!
yeah we do have a pretty good fanbase, it was good to see all the little kids there while we were warming up and putting their hands out for fives... reminds me of when i was like thathaha cant wait for this weekend though, it is going to be huge!! hopefully the rain stays away again on the day
Dan Bailey needs to work on his pace big time though. He got run down there a couple of times when a faster player could have probably made it to the line.
Clearly you're all a bunch of druggies Mix....you never know what's in that powerade these days....i've always thought blue was the most unnatural colour for something that you're supposed to consume
Good luck for the weekend. It looks like you boys will put up an impressive game. I'll be sure to watch the whole match this time! What do you play?
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to Giteau."
yeah dan isnt the quickest but he is a big boy, he makes a better centre i think but that is just my opinion...
haha yeah i dont think they realised that there is now a purple powerade, maybe thats where the problem began?? not many ppl like perth bayswater so i can understand it...
make sure you watch the whole match, and maybe wear something black/whitehaha i have been forced onto the bench throughout the finals series bcoz i hyper extended my elbow on the thursday night b4 the kalamunda game but usually play anywhere in the backline, mainly wing though. i am so excited for this weekend, i am buzzing already hahahaha
Haha you give that bench a work out mixWhat were you doing on thursday night? You better not have been hyper-extending you arm to get a beer
I actually was unintentionally wearing black and white on sat...i'll have to make sure i remedy that...
Agreed about Dan. He'd probably be a reasonable outside centre. But he is a pretty scary force to confront on the wing though. Speaking of big guys....every time i see stretch on the field for Pally it cracks me up...he's like a walking giant
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to Giteau."
yeah stretch is huge, maybe a bit too big for his own good bcoz it looks like he struggles to get around the park. i reckon pallys inside centre played really well, was easily their best!!
i might as well have been reaching out for a beer bcoz it was such a stupid injury, we were mucking around kicking the balls at the end of training and i went for a jumping smother and as i was coming down my hand connected with his face as he ran past and crack see you later markys elbow!! na i just had a shot of cement and battled through the game that saturdday. still really sore now but its finals time so the adrenalin lets you forget about it and then after the game the beers also help soothe the pain!! was a bit of a big one saturday night, so glad the rwc is on!!
Haha Stretch got pulled up for a high tackle early on in the game and some guy next to me screamed out "fair go ref, he's got a long way to bend". Cracked me upso true... I reckon he should be playing AFL...seems to be more for his build.
Nice work with the elbow....i reckon you should be making up a more dramatic story for that one! Or just keep drinking. I'm not sure i'm going to make it through this world cup with a liver or any sleep. I'm learning that working on France time and copious amounts of alcohol is not really conducive to uni and work in Perth...hmmm...

yeah tell me about it, im strugglinog today but cant be bothered doing much, lucky work hasnt banned this website as they have all the other ones i abusei think bcoz my boss likes hearing all the latest sports news he wont let them ban it. as for drinking well i will have to wait until after next weekend to have a fair crack at it but i'll give you the hot tip right now - the boys are hanging out bigtime!! we cant wait to get into rwc mode and be at the pub mid week etc enjoying the cold beers and great action on tv. im getting thirsty thinking about it!!
as for stretch and playing afl, might be a bit too big lol you do have to jump a bit higher than in a lineout... but if i was that size i would give it a crack 4 sure, they seem to snap up anyone with a height around the 2mtr mark.

That was quite funny. 202cm Rankin tackling 170cm Tipuna -- the only way Rankin could make a legal tackle on Tipuna would be to get down on his knees.
yeah that was pretty funny, but nothing on tua's massive legs pumping away and him not getting anywhere haha that was hilarious!!!![]()

Oh right, it must have been some other team I heard yelling "kick it out and let's get drunk" at the end of the game then? Not that you wouldn't have earned it - that was a really good game and well worth hanging around for. Can heartily recommend all Spirit fans to stay on next weekend.Originally Posted by mixmastamark

anyone know when Bambam is back? i heard 6 weeks it must be nearly that now?
If the Spirit want to keep on winning - they need to get a new song for their run on music. Don't think lyrics such as "I want to run, I want to hide" put too much fear into the opposition!
Good to be able to watch the local finals at ME as well - though the bonus at Rugby Park is that everyone can get full strength beer, not just the grandstanders!
Demand full strength Eley..........
