The Irish relationship with Scotland and Wales became strained during that time as they refused to tour for Five Nations. Wales also tried to skewer Ireland for RWC games and money due to a deal that occurred in 1999 when Wales hosted a tournament they should never have been awarded. This is despite the IRB stating there will be no more joint bids.
The Welsh regions in the past have also threatened to leave the Pro 14 to play in the English leagues.
Wayne Pivac has come out and said at least two players in the Welsh squad have tested positive to Wuhan virus and it is rife in communities there. I just can’t seem them touring Japan and NZ in July.
The Irish Government has also banned public gatherings of over 500 people up until September. There is still two rounds of Six Nations matches to complete which include France v Ireland in Paris and there is no guarantee that will go ahead. The Italians have to visit Dublin and host England in Rome. The situation is getting worse in France.
I think it might be two. They should be abstaining from voting as Pichot has been on their board.
