fava has made quite a few mistakes in the last 2 home games, brownie has gotten what... 4 tries? wawa!

Its not about the tries, force addict. Brown only scored tries because he was at the right place at the right time. Even someone like Hardy can get 4 tries if he's in the right position. It's more on general play; like how they hit the ball up, their tackling and their dominance in rucks.
I'm not the biggest fan of Fava myself, but he has been hitting the ball up quite well this year. Yeah, given he does make quite a few mistakes, but he's got a good work ethic and in the past few games, he's been doing quite well. Brown on the other hand seems really worn out and needs a bit of a break. Brown is still the form no.8 in the australia, but Fava has been prominent in no.6 and has been in great form.
And plus Fava is picking up his off field ethics as well. No more quokka throwing or drinking. I hear from dave that he's been helping out in the WhyGen charity and in South Africa, he joined holmesy and pocock in distributing balls and playing with the kids. and he's taken up a role in community rugby as a selector and part time coach for the state schoolboys. So good on Fava.
Good point gotheforce. Fava has changed his off-field ethics and I think this is one reason that he has been playing better. He is more involved in community rugby and helping out the community (via whygen).
ok i know tries aren't everything, but fava has also been in the right place at the right time and has let it slip, but i do agree is good at number 6.

I metioned this last week and was shot down, this is exactly what No8 started this thread about (I think)....now is as good a time as any.
If your not committed to the Force for 2009, you'll miss out on getting a start. I think if we were still in the running for a final, that would be different.
Pusey must get a start next week.

TIF... this week I'm on board with you (and I reckon alot of the previous nay-sayers are the same). Last week, it was a hard ask to make the finals, but still doable. That's no longer true, in all but the remotest of likelihoods. With that in mind, might as well give some of the young boys a run, but with a few experienced heads around to balance it out (and no objections to not bothering with someone whos not staying, unless we need them).
So has Drew Mitchell, and Ryan Cross, and Cameron Shepherd.
And especially Nick Cummins, which incidentally costs us in the Tahs game. I know he's one of your favourite players, but truth be told, everyone makes mistakes, and so has Fava. But he's got much more positive points than negative ones over the past few games.
Fava is not my favourite player, and im not his biggest fan either. But with the progress he has made both on and off the field, i think he deserves a break and some recognition. He has earned back my respect after the off field incidents
I think big Mitch needs to take some of the blame for the recent poor form. We need to play some different options. Our game plan worked for the first weeks this year but now teams have time to analyse it and can see how to counter it we need to have something else in the play book.
I could be wrong and that they have practice other plays and they are just not using them.
I agree wuth the coach taking some responsibilty instead of putting it all back on his players!!
Yeah Nick Cummins has let it slip too but when he has the ball, boy does he accelerate. I've never really gotten into Fava, but yeah I can see the good impact he is having, bonus that he's a nice guy too. I totally gave them my respect and forgiveness after his incident(s) and since he is giving work back into the community my respect would hardly falter.
Sheps I think has been a bit off game this season, and some people thought so about last season too, but he showed them all they were wrong when he won us that game and I'm sure that since he has re-signed with us he will continue playing good footy.
