Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as TQ1....used to give blood regularly in the UK (the first time was a student to test the theory that you get pissed more quickly immediately after giving blood..........proved correct!!!).

It really p*sses me off when they run the adverts saying that they're short of blood & donors but there's a whole load who grew up in the UK who are ineligible due to some mad notion that we're all a bunch of mad cows!!!

For the record, I'm B rhesus negative which is quite rare, I believe.

But most importantly you will get the unmistakable warm fuzzy feeling you get from knowing you may have helped save someone's life.

Even those who can't or don't want to give blood can get that warm & fuzzy feeling by donating your time & talents to a worthy cause. Help a kid, an old person, a sick person or anyone less fortunate than yourself. You'll be glad you did.
