I was waiting for someone to say that

But I don't blame jono for hating needles. Collapsed veins, anyone?

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as TQ1....used to give blood regularly in the UK (the first time was a student to test the theory that you get pissed more quickly immediately after giving blood..........proved correct!!!).

It really p*sses me off when they run the adverts saying that they're short of blood & donors but there's a whole load who grew up in the UK who are ineligible due to some mad notion that we're all a bunch of mad cows!!!

For the record, I'm B rhesus negative which is quite rare, I believe.

Thanks so much everyone for posting in this thread... I just wanted to get some awareness raised.

If I can encourage one person to donate blood I will be so happy.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I've never seen a Jedi cow

Nor ever hope to see one

But I can tell you anyhow

I'd rather see than be one.

    With apologies to Hillaire Belloc.

Why would I be glad if I helped a Tahs supporter?
