I thought I heard MacKay say he was aiming at week 3 or 4 to come back. It could have been back in 3 or 4 weeks though... Not entirely sure.
No competition if MacKay is out Jimmy Hilgendorf was the spark that got the Force going last year and he is the best 10 we have. I earlier said that I thought they would go with MacKay because of his size, but after watching the replays from last season and seeing the difference Hilgy made it would be hard to go past him!

Just leading on from my post above, the second scenario may well solve a few selection issues when the squad is fully fit.
Start with:
#9 Henjak OR O'Young (Lets not argue the toss there yet)
#10 MacKay
#12 Giteau
#20 Hilgendorf
#21 Staniforth
#22 Outside Back
During second half:
#9 Giteau (Opposition Back Row tiring for snipping runs from the scrum base)
#10 Hilgendorf (Likewise, gaps starting to open up on the inside)
#12 Staniforth (Stanners to bash what's left of the resistance)
#22 Still got an Outside Back spare.
Tough on the specialist Half Back who doesn't get picked but could just prove to be a match winner and both Knuckles and to a lesser extent Mitch have spoken of the bonus of not needing a specialist player at #20/Reserve Half.
Under this "plan" it accomodates
#11 Ioane
#13 Cross
#14 Mitchell
#15 Shepherd
So for variety then I would be using Sare as #22 for replacing whoever of that unit is most tired or injured.
As mentioned elsewhere today, our most underated Back!
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
#9- Henjak
#10- Mackay - Hilgy- Daruda
#11- Ioane
#12- Giteau
#13- Cross - Staniforth
#14- Drew
#15- Sheps
#20- (One of the number 10's because gits can cover #9)
#21- (One of the numer 13's)
#22- Sare
Junior coming into the squad if #12 or #13 suffer an injury
Sare is by far the most underated back in our squad and should be given a fair go.

Have merged Season '07 posts from "The First Homegrown Force Player?" for continuity. Can find it here: http://thewholeforce.com/showthread.php?t=4096

Somehow i dont think the VC will be on bench, i think he will be on wing only and only in centres if desparately needed. It will be cross and gits in centres, jimmy at 10, mitchell and Sheps either way at 14 15.
VC? Is Fava not VC?

I thought both the scotts were joint VC? I could be wrong though, wouldnt be the first thats for sure lol. I'll double check, unless they told my source and then took it back, the good ol took it back ha!
Just Fava as VC in 2006 season (http://www.rugbywa.com.au/wa/wa.rugby/page/39689) I haven't heard anything this year as yet ...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
It did sound familiar when you mentioned it MG but if not maybe just part of the "Leadership Group" all codes love talking about now days.

Have only seen the Force played 2 times, but I have seen everyone of there players in the backline perform.
9. Henjak Is a dreadful shame you have this guy
10. Daruda I no he won't be selected but I have seen him play about 4 times and boy, is he a great player, How old is he?
11. Ioane: A potential Wallaby if he can learn how to catch and not drift of his man.
12. Giteau, No Doubt about it, YOu wouldn't but someone for over a Million and not use him
13.Stanners/ Cross
14. Cross/ Stanners
15. Mitchell/ Sheps, I dont care about Sheps, use a rotation policy
20. DOnt no who your reserve Halfback is,
21. Hilgrenolf
22. Stapleton
I'm not going to say anything... (SPELLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Interesting idea to play Cross on the Wing and have Gits and Stanners at Centres. I just dont think Cross has the pace required of a winger at S14 level. I could be wrong though, thats only based on what I saw on Saturday.
I also think that Shepherd has to start @ 15 and Hilgendorf @ 10. Both had such a huge impact in those positions last year...

No I am incredibly interested, with that experiment. Well with Stanners at VC, you would need him more involved in the action.
Option 1:
1st half:
#9 Henjak
#10 Hilgendorf (Only if Mackay is Injured)
#11 Staniforth - (plays first half on wing then switches to outside centre)
#12 Giteau
#13 Cross- (Cross plays first half centre and then gets replaced by Staniforth, While Digby comes on at
#14 Mitchell
#15 Shepherd
2nd half:
#9 Henjak
#10 Hilgendorf (same as first half- only if Mackay is injured)
#11 Ioane
#12 Giteau
#13 Staniforth
#14 Mitchell
#Shepherd
Option 2:
1st half:
#9 Henjak
#10 Hilgendorf (Only if Mackay is Injured)
#11 Staniforth
#12 Giteau
#13 Cross
#14 Mitchell
#15 Shepherd
2nd half:
#9 Giteau
#10 Hilgendorf (Only if Mackay is Injured)
#11 Ioane
#12 Staniforth
#13 Cross
#14 Mitchell
#15 Shepherd
An injury would also see Digby in the starting line up...
Sare is number #22
Junior #21
#20 depends if you want giteau on 2nd half at #9, If so you can afford an extra winger. Maybe Give Bret a go?
