Been to Gulliver's? I can't believe they wouldn't show it on one of their big screens.

A premiership is a premiership whether it is "cheque book" or not. Use the resources that are available to the club in the most effective way possible - be it money, great junior pathway, location, culture, volunteer base in whatever percentage combination the club has.

Most clubs struggle with the U/18s - U/20s for various and combined reasons be it

    -PSA rugby
-location of other lower grade clubs that began as junior clubs and now have only these age groups to support
    -location of other premier clubs
-demographics - if the club is in a lower socio economic catchment many players may now be working Thursday/ Saturday or have jobs/ apprenticeships that make them unavailable
    -Studying for TER
-The nature of being a self centred young person where 'hanging' with mates and drinking etc takes precedence, one day you have 24 kids coming to training, the following Thursday the whole front row has decided they don't feel like it anymore and won't be playing. This will sound familiar to many involved in coaching and supporting these late teen/ young adults.

RM's contribution ( or not ) to the age group is not going to give any particular club a team in these age groups

Try Tenderloins Bar & Grill Sukhumvit Soi33. They have all all the sports - even GayFL. There are quite a few screens so you might have to put in a request for midnight.. Like most of the sports bars all over the LOS they concentrate on the EPL. Excellent food too.

This is a problem for all sports though of course

It reflects a lack of opportunity or pathway in the sport.

Young people of this age often join the workforce as well and have bigger responsibilities.

You need a vision to inspire you to stay in the game and take it seriously.

Well, yes but nonetheless a new thread, evil as it is. I'm not showing too much thread etiquette am I?

On a positive note watched an enthralling game this afternoon at Rosalie. Thankfully I don't know anything about WA Club politics and loved the rugby on the field. 33-31 to UWA won by a last minute try. Good stuff, will be back next week..hopefully the politics doesn't ruin it.

If Hansie had said this I'd believe it. This is what he truly believes in - buy the best players in and win a few more premierships; and do it all again next year, and the year after ..... If that's the future then so be it - the guy with the biggest wallet wins.

Some of us believe that to be a Premier Club you have an obligation to contribute to the development of the game in the community. Nedlands clearly does not tick the development boxes. They have a few random teams in the lower age groups and conveniently use the PSA argument as a cop out to do any further development beyond the under 15 age grouping. There are plenty of other kids (non PSA) out there. Wests do okay and they are about three kilometres from Nedlands ground. Nedlands purely focus on importing 1st grade players and leave the true local player development to other clubs. Quite a successful formula really.

Rocky was humped yesterday by another of the serial offenders, Soaks.

Each club needs to be able to look itself in the mirror after winning a premiership - I suggest that Nedlands, Uni and Cottesloe would feel a bit guilty if they did. Then again, with their attitude to life, guilt is probably not something part of their make-up.

How about it Hansie you big mother - as you look in the mirror on Mothers Day, what do you see?

Undoubtedly the most sensible uttering from Rex for months, or ever.
