Leroy Houston re-signs with Reds for a further 2 years, and Greg Holmes is also on the verge of re-signing with the Reds as well.
The Reds are building nicely now... It s good time to stick around...
Well they still need to re-sign James Horwill, Berrick Barnes, Digby Ioane and Hugh McMeniman before im happy.
QLD Premier Grade comp has improved in leaps and bounds over the last few years, a lot of investment has been going into the development of many of the clubs. GPS are this weekend celebrating the 1month anniversary of there new $2million training facility, Sunnybank had a $1.6million upgrade in 2006 with a new $500'000 gym planned for 2010.Easts win Australian Club Challenge
Easts produced an enthralling second half comeback to defeat Sydney University in the 2009 Australian Club Challenge at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
The Tigers ran out 38-31 winners thanks to a hat-trick of tries to winger David Lucas and a perfect six-from-six strike rate from the boot of man of the match Andrew Walker.
The victory was the first time a Queensland side has won the interstate contest since its reintroduction in 2007. Sydney Uni defeated Wests 36-5 in 2007 and Sunnybank 24-0 in 2008.
Trailing 24-0 in the second half, the Tigers scored 38 points in 30 minutes courtesy of tries to Lucas, Coen Ladewig and Pale Toelupe. Walker secured the victory with a 55m penalty goal late in the match.
The victory was a major coup for the Tigers and a huge boost heading into the opening round of Queensland Premier Rugby on Saturday, March 28.
Wow, a huge result!
I missed what the Fox commentary said during the Tahs match.

ha, yeah i tried to imbed the image but it didnt work, i was just posting a Google view of Ballymore for the heck of it
this may sound a bit dumb given it's a 2D overhead picture, but it seem very low to the ground. Is it?
Members Equity stadium is very low, although the Crusaders pre-season game was a sellout - there wasn't much noise within the stadium - it just went straight over the top. By comparison, Subi oval with the same crowd can get quite rowdy as the noise bounces around within the stadium ...
nah the two main stands are of a reasonable height, but at either end it is rather low

I think it is more the gaps on the corners Coach, where as Subiaco and Suncorp are solid rings to hold the noise in.

QRU News
QRU has given the go-ahead to re-introduce the annual Country v Brisbane game and also have a carnival day of under-15, under-17, Colts and Open matches. Should help out the Country teams quite a bit, this development accompanied with the new QLD State Comp is rather significant for Country Rugby considering the years of neglect shown by previous QRU administrations.
Nice! Where would it likely be played?
i imagine that they would be brought to Brisbane and played at Ballymore, QR can offer free/subsidsed travel at least.
Wouldn't use it as a promotional exercise in one of the regional centres?
