you had to be there!!
source:bbc a sporting nation
the media hype in the build up was unprecedented. the perception of english arrogance in assuming they simply had to turn up to win was used to motivate the scots.
television pictures of english captain will carling telling his team mates that they were better than their opponents raised the heckles; of england grand slam 1990 t-shirts and ties being on sale in edinburgh heightened the frenzy, and when david sole led the scots on a slow, determined march out of the murrayfield tunnel, emotions were at fever pitch.
The greatest try never scored
Ron Jarden playing for NZ Universities v Springboks,Athletic park 1956
sprinted from his own goaline, outpacing the whole bok team to score under the posts, only for the touch judge putting his flag up on the half way line.As the famous commentator,Winston McCarthy said"only the touchjudge saw it"(Jarden's foot going into touch)
1. Scotland v England 1990 @ Murrayfield
2. Lions tour to Sth Africa 1997 (1st & 2nd tests...3rd didn't matter!!!)
In no particular order.
Tahs v Force 2008 Perth - Tah WIN (with a high Sailor)
Tahs v Force 2007 Sydney - DRAW, the Tahs were robbed (but Force didnt push 2 dads)
Tahs v Force 2006 Bathurst -Tah WIN (we were mourning Brockie)
Tahs v Force 2006 Perth - Tah WIN (1 inch I tell ya...)
2 France v AB games in RWC finals comes to mind as well. The one with the 'Try From The End Of The Earth' was a good one. 91 and 95 RWC games with Jonah blowing everyone away. Running over Mike Catt and running over one of those pommie brothers who used to play on the wing in the 90s. Cant remember.
Jonah, what a champunisher

Also John Eales last game- was a Bledisloe at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, 2001 I think- all seemed lost until a last gasp Totai Kefu (sp?) try right under the posts in front of me- great send off for Eaelsy.

ditto.
i had watched a few games before that one. but that was the game that got me into rugby.
then the force game along and sealed it.
The 2000 TRi-Nations series as a whole was awesome (I know it's supposed to be 1 game). 110 000 at Stadium Australia, Ealsey knocking it over in the death in Wellington and Stirling getting one from the corner in Durban.
