I agree with your sentiments entirely, but I have picked the boys to win by 16

As TQ1 keeps pointing out - we are nearly at the average points per game of 3.25 that the Sharks had last year.
We are sat of 3, which is good...

I don't think the Highlanders will have the defense to keep up with us. We've got too much confidence coming into this game. I think the only thing that can keep us from getting a bonus point is injury!

    Force by 30 for me!

Well we have dropped behind where we were at this time last year, but don't forget we had a horror run to end the year. If we can recover from the defeat last week there is no reason to think we win 6 from 6. We get the Brumbies, Tahs, Bulls and Chiefs all at home. Reds and Hurricanes on the road. The game against the Hurricanes might be the decider as it looks like it will be us or them for 4th place.

I think that 19-15 is the key stat. We have three games (2 home, 1 in Oz) before a bye and after that we have three games (2 home, 1 NZ). Thats pretty promising having a late bye will bode well for the last three games and if we did make the finals give us a bit of an edge.

    2007 Force after 8 games were 5W 2L 1D 3BP = 25 points
2007 Force vs 8 teams we have played this year were 4W 4L 3BP =19 points

    2008 Force after 8 games are 5W 3L 3BP = 23 points

So still around the same as last year. Looking at the remaining games I think it is going to take at least 4 out of 5 and a couple bonus points to get in.

The Brumbies and Chiefs at home are two games we have to be targetting as a win. I know Mitch will want to win against the Chiefs and with a bye before hand it could go our way.

i know this may sound dumb but why would a bye be something we want? more training time?

Got to have one some time and its better to have one before playing a tough team so all the little niggles go away or to give players time to return from injury. We gave the Sharks a beating after our bye last year. It also gives you a bit more time to debrief on the season so far and work really hard on the bit thats left.
