I meant a big deal in the media directed at the players, but I see your point. I don't entirely see how Quade Cooper taking a big money deal to play for the Force is any worse than Wycliff Palu only taking a one year deal with the Waratahs because he's going off to Japan after the next world cup. Is anyone going to kick up such a fuss over Palu making a career decision solely based on cash? Is everyone going to chime in and say: "Don't do it Palu, they are evil.", "Don't waste the opportunity of a lifetime for the sake of greed.", "Think about all we've done for you Palu before you stab us in the back." or "How will you be a better player Palu if you are not passing the ball off the back of the scrum to Will Genia? You'd be a terrible player without him."

a 27yr old number 8 isnt the same as a 5/8 who a team has a game plan built around

Tell you what give us the funding first and we'll start cracking on the 50,000 players. What comes first the chicken or the egg? The money has to come first, it always does. Even if not $2 million just something.

Then look at the Reds results before 2003 - you seem keen to suggest that the Reds are some pathetic basket case rather than a province that has played at super rugby level since 1993, winning 2 championships (Super 10) and playing semi finals in a number of other years (Super 12).

Yes you did play in 3 semis during the Super12
1996 - Lost semi against Natal (Sharks) 43-25 after ending #1 on the log and get home advantage.
1999 - Lost semi against Crusaders 28-22 after ending #1 on the log and get home advantage.
2001 - Lost semi against Brumbies 30-6

And yes you did win the title twice when it was Super 10, but look at the competition then. Remember it was played in 2 different pools back then and no semi finals, top in Pool A plays top in Pool B.

Well it isn't. But apparently the Eastern Unions and Press operate under the assumption that the Force are only allowed to recruit players that are not wanted by NSW, Qld or ACT.

And how long has the game plan been built around Cooper. I would argue until Barnes left only this year. I know you will say Mooney stuck with Barnes at 12 and Cooper at 10 despite criticism but Mooney stuck with Barnes at 12 because thats where he was at with the Wallabies.

I don't blame QLD or NSW at all for getting extra funding. I blame them for complaining about WA stealing their players and why WA doesn't develop its own depth.

Yeh me too Deans watchs all the games (on telly) he knows whats out there.... I would of thought a move west would show how good he is in devloping a new backline... Gits tried to but didnt like being told how to do it by JM with JM gone next season (90% sure) and David N in at coach a whole new player/coach will begin.
I would like to see Gena come over as well and team up with JOC and QC - TOCC u can come over too!!!!
