50-50, but if Richard Graham can keep getting the ARU to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for players, it's no wonder Queensland don't want to get rid of him!

Rugby franchises are businesses not charities so there is no way (imo) that Leinster would have let him go without being compensated. Maybe Kane paid the money himself and it is being reimbursed via a slightly higher salary from the ARU than would otherwise have been the case. Stranger & 'cuter' things have happened.....

Also a comment from GAGR site:
,,,,Whichever version is true, regardless of who is paying etc (although IMO it had better not be the ARU, I don't pay higher rego fees for my boys to play rugby just so they can pay to get players out of contracts) I think its interesting to see the comments of the Irish fans. Many of them actually seem pleased that he is leaving, not the manner in which it is happening though, as he didn't really do anything for them. Some blamed his below par performances on poor coaching - the laughable thing is that his ex coach is rumoured to be in the mix for the Qld job."
The plot thickens.....
Ahhhh the murky world of the ARU.....

What, if anything, do eastern states players getting out of overseas contracts and the Force and Rebels getting extra marque spots have in common?
I'll take the tin foil hat for 40 points thanks!
it's all about the meaning of life,Shasta
The extra Maeques is a way for the ARU to take the heat away and hope the Rebs and Force don't look closer at the deals being done over east...
ARU is corrupt
Kane has signed three year deal with Reds so he is also available for Bledisloe next week.
Wonder how much the ARU forked out??
